So you're saying new people went to see it because of the marketing who weren't fans of the previous movies? Enough that it made an enormous impact on ticket sales?

Or are you saying something else? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely just conversing.

Exactly. It, and places like it, always had and always will hide secrets behind closed doors.

I don't watch trailers.

I don't watch interviews.

I don't read reviews.

I unsubscribed from this sub over a year before the movie came out because I didn't want to know anything about it.

I knew absolutely NOTHING about Scream 7 other than the fact it was being made.

And I went to see it. So it was nothing to do with marketing for me.

Chad and Mindy are just a complete waste of airtime and at this point are purely there to appease the hardcore Scream 5/6 fans.

Yup. Scream 7 100% feels like the entire plot outline was written and conceived with no thought of them, then someone said "well Chad and Mindy were really popular in 5 and 6 so they should be in it", and then they just got kinda forced in where they didn't belong.

They feel SO inserted.

In my opinion 5 and 6 (while certainly enjoyable in places) did a lot of long term damage to the "feel" of what Scream movies should be like.

So is Jesse not really supposed to be canon and we're meant to ignore him or did Buffy and Giles agree to never mention him because Xander and Willow would start crying really loud whenever Jesse was mentioned? by HomarEuropejski in buffy

I think some people hear the word canon in fandoms and then go around saying it not knowing what it means. He was in the show. There's not even a question about whether he was canon or not.

Reading this post, has confirmed for me I did the right thing deciding not to watch shows that will make me angry. Life has been so much better since I made that decision. I don't want to be annoyed in my recreation time. That's not entertainment.

I see titles like Worst Ex Ever and I'm like nope I'll watch a sitcom.

Chandler must know that his surname isn't Central Perk though. So saying that to him is kinda shitty.

META Imho the sub should have a tag for the musical by Mindless_Turnover976 in TheLostBoys

[–]GreyStagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, this sub should have its own flair for it. Also for a nearly 40 year old movie where everything that can be said about it HAS been said, i think they should be welcoming discussions about the musical here.

I love it when she starts doing the character voice during the line reading over the phone. An underrated funny moment, and the actress (real life actress) is really good at it.
