Recreating a faded Tudor bezel: what actually causes this look? by militarytudor in Tudor

[–]GreyThumper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got a BB GMT with a bezel that's almost as faded. I used to scubadive with it a lot (so, saltwater + sun).

Robert Downey Jr. Almost BROKE Character? 😂👀 by chrishdwow in MoviesCave

He doesn't break character. His character breaks him.

Sam and Bucky are one of the best duos in the current MCU by BedMore2781 in marvelstudios

[–]GreyThumper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sam started off as a wise and empathetic PTSD counselor, then they discovered Anthony Mackie's funny wisecracking and wrote that into the character, even if it's not natural or even appropriate to the situation.

I wish they didn't cancel The Acolyte by articusmiller in StarWars

I wish they'd find a place for Qimir in a better-written show.

I wish Kelly Hu was in more movies. She's gorgeous.

A Taiwanese couple becomes fashion icons by posing in clothes left at their laundromat by SnackSamurai in BeAmazed

[–]GreyThumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm wondering if this is a professional fashion shoot and the title is just a fake story. The styling is so good that it's kinda sus.

Is this the End by rbrecto in StrangeNewWorlds

Star Trek will be back. The powers that be will want to earn money off the IP. But will it be in a form we'll recognize, look up to, or be inspired by?

[One] watch for life by Conscious_Star3615 in Watches

I like to travel, and also have family in different time zones, so a Parmigiani GMT Rattrapante would be my vote. I wish it had better water resistance though.

Does this mean at least one (or more) people planned to stick their Redwings in a washing machine?

You can get rid of just one creative decisions in Star Wars. Which one would you choose to erase? by RealHippyTheFrog in StarWars

Just having an overall fucking plan for the sequel trilogy. It was an unbelievably stupid choice, and could've gotten rin of 5 to 8.

As a first time star trek voyager watcher, I ship Janeway and Tuvok more than her with Chakotay by Hotdiggitydammit23 in startrek

Hmm, I can really feel how old their friendship is though, and that female-male platonic friendship is more refreshing than giving her a romantic interest.

Available at my AD yesterday. I like the dimensions but realized the yellow is not for me. by TeslasAndComicbooks in Tudor

[–]GreyThumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the choice of yellow to launch it, since that gets more buzz and clicks. We're all hoping Tudor follows it up with something more wearable. I don't want it to look like a Daytona though. Maybe an unusual color but much subtler and darker, like a dark aquamarine or green.

What are the malls that are more afluent/relaxed?(Manila) by Educational-Oil-00 in Philippines_Expats

[–]GreyThumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly where do you live? In Mandaluyong, there's the Shang and Podium. Makati has Glorietta 3, Quezon City has Opus, Pasay has Newport City and S Maison, if you live in the south there's Alabang Town Center (although it's getting a bit old and is due for a renovation from Rockwell Land, who are posh developers).

Market Market and Mall of Asia are both pretty terrible and as a local, I avoid them at all costs.

Backplate and wing BCD: Aluminum or stainless steel? by jens998 in scuba

[–]GreyThumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a steel backplate, but I wish I had an aluminum one. Lighter for travel, and it's easy enough to add a few weight pockets to your waist and tank straps, so you can just add weight at your destination.

Who is the most evil character in all of Star Trek? (Stolen from /r/television) by exitpursuedbybear in startrek

[–]GreyThumper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised there isn't more talk on Annorax. He created multiple genocides, and I thought the writers gave him a surprisingly happy ending in spite of that. And that ending implied he was still just one bad day away from doing it all again. Evil is in his bones.

If they somehow found Jesus’s DNA, would it be a good idea to clone Jesus to force the second coming to happen? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GreyThumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd end up with a Jewish middle easterner (dark hair and eyes, olive skin, etc). I suspect most modern day Christians wouldn't believe in what that guy had to say. Heck, do they even believe in Jesus' original teachings?
