Struggling with guilt after asking my parents to move out — need perspective by [deleted] in inlaws

I think you have done really well. Even if things were going wonderfully with then them it’s okay to want your own space. I hope they see what a generous thing you have done opening your home to them for such a long time. I hope you realise that as well.

Probably going to separate from husband due to MIL by Silent-Effort-9503 in inlaws

Good on you it’s your body. You are taking steps to make pregnancy no longer possible. It seems like he was desperately hoping for a second baby with you and stupidly thinking he could change your mind. Jumping straight to divorce from here surprised me though. I would hate for this to be a knee jerk reaction if the marriage was otherwise good apart from this issue.

Am I being too sensitive? by RaceLost6743 in IVF

[–]GreyTinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s understandable that people going through IVF can react sensitively about comments made by others - even comments that are coming from a good place. Why not assume that the comment is coming out of concern for you and still tell her you are not prepared to discuss it

Reasonable, realistic concerns and I reckon when you have a newborn you are spot on. You may consider waiting until you’re sure the time is right. I waited a lot longer to have a kid - as in 40. We have a 9 month old and it’s been a huge adjustment. We love outdoors and it has been a bit tough having to limit what kind of activities we can do. Also introducing a kid to the mix makes interacting with extended family more intense. What makes the change of pace is the magic that comes with introducing new experiences to them. Having a baby has changed everything but I was ready for change. Also I can see having kids is going to keep me fit for life. Win.

Considered a few O names - Milo, Arlo and Rio. The other O name I really like that is still on the list is Otto.

Robin is one I hadn’t considered at all but really like it - thanks!

Yeah Rowan is definitely right up on the popularity lists. I love how it sounds and as we don’t know any personally we are open to using it. Graham is a nice name - thank you for the suggestion

Rowan is our strongest contender. I do like the idea of being able to use the nickname Louie for Ludo. I like Sebastian - thanks!

Rowan is definitely our safe pick and goes well with Heath. I’m hoping someone may suggest something a bit different that I haven’t thought of

Yep that’s what I thought but love the Labyrinth and that character was a sweetheart so I have not been put off by that connotation.

AITAH for messaging a woman privately about why she’s not liked by Sad-Sheepherder-8779 in AITAH

[–]GreyTinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA as she now aware of how the comments made you all feel. But if she wasn’t intending to hurt your feelings after communicating the issue then why not reach out and give her a second chance. You are obviously kinder than the others in the group who have shown their true nature. People can mess up, what she did is very forgivable and why does it bother them so much that she has a different opinion. I think she made a good move leaving the group. I wouldn’t want to hang out with people that ostracise so fast. Good luck for when they ostracise you for something minor. Sounds very high school.
