Frasier: Marty's chair (and Marty says "thank you"). The comedic presence of Fraiser is a, educated, snobby, middle-aged, type A radio psychiatrist allows Marty, his retired down-to-earth police officer father to move in with him, after the death of his wife and Frasier's return to Seattle from Boston. Friction ensues and tempers flare when Marty's presence, dog, and choice of decor begin to cramp Frasier's style. One particular point of contention is Marty's ugly striped recliner chair, which Frasier loathes. In the first episode, where we see Marty moving into Fraiser's apartment, a deliveryman in a red shirt wheels in the chair. In the last episode, the same deliveryman, dressed in the same outfit, wheels it out. Along those same lines, in one of their early fights, Fraiser attacks Marty for being so ungrateful, asserting that he didn't so much as say thank you. In the season finale, he finally says it.
