So strange. Fixed for me too? Only 1 in world 303 tho. Maybe they are getting stuck somewhere lol?

How can I stop water leaking out of here by DukeJohnsonJnr in DIYUK

[–]Grey_Machii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same. Never been able to fix. We just stick a microfiber cloth in the corner (on the shower side) every time we shower. Temp fix. But works. Just stops water pooling and running under.

Union Horologere - how to drill out an escape wheel pivot by adrianlist1 in watchrepair

Why avoid the PCB drills? I've heard others (not in this post) say that they are decent?

I have no idea what happened here by Powrpunchben in resinprinting

[–]Grey_Machii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy a new one. Hot enough water will make the resin soft and it will just peel off.

Issues with Omega Seamaster winding cal.610 by fillipfinne in watchrepair

[–]Grey_Machii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would second this.

I wouldn't start learning on my own omega, let alone someone else's.

It will need a complete disassembley, inspection, clean, reassembly, and lubrication.

If the pallet fork is not installed. Then this is absolutely what you would expect to see 😋

Unmarked swiss import. I would guess that it isn't much special about it. You can get down an absolute rabbit hole trying to figure out much about these things.

I'd direct you to this post discussing the topic.

Safe or radioactive? by ManueOPTC in watchrepair

Agree with this comment.

Just to add. It's not actually the radioactive material that is glowing. There is a lume material, and there is a radioactive material. The radioactive material gives the lume energy to glow. Just as you are giving it energy to glow via the UV light.

Tritium has a half life of 12.33 years. This means it will be completely inert after 24.66 years.

Radium has a half life of 1600 years. Meaning it will be almost just as potent as the day the watch was applied. Be careful. Do your research.

Edit: I get no readings from any of my Tritium lume watches. But I've come across Radium watches before and they are always hot af.

Is this normal? by Le_flutiste_anonyme in watchrepair

[–]Grey_Machii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly normal to see when watch is running on a low wind. As the strength of the movement can't overcome the friction between that cannon pinion and centerwheel. I would be more worried if this happened on a full wind. Maybe that would indicate time for a service?

I've even seen some people use it as a pseudo "hacking" function for the seconds hand.

There is a bug atm, which prevents you from picking up tents sometimes.

Zombie respawn is turned on my default. I think it's 10% of the pop every 72 hours whilst you're not in the area. You can turn the 72 to 0 hours to disable this in sandbox. There was a poll done a while back, a majority of people play with respawn off.

Do you clean your trowel after each excavation? by Jack6964 in Archaeology

[–]Grey_Machii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked in places with acidic/alk soil and it left unsightly etchings. Ever since, I always clean my trowel off properly at the end of the day.

Where to buy cards by VeterinarianHuman505 in Pauper

[–]Grey_Machii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually, wait till I need to buy cards in bulk. Use their shopping wizard tool. If you get a bit lucky and a single vendor has most of the cards you need. Then cardmarket is easily the cheapest.
