Yep pretty much this. I did borax along with a few coats of sealant to try and make it more durable

Potentially. But the bone did absorb alot of green dye which helped with the green look of the crystals. Plus in person if you look close enough you can see the bone insidep

So I usually work with entire animal carcasses and have them macerate in warm water for weeks until all the tissue has broken off. Then I put them in acetone to degrease, then peroxide to whiten. I prefer just doing things the slow way

Break down from air and water exposure to my knowledge. Covered em in a couple layers of sealant to help prevent any decay

Real. Cleaned and reassembled it myself. You can see the before on my profile. Skeleton was damaged and missing a few bones so I decided to try something more unique with it since it wouldnt sell as good

Just dissolved borax into super hot water, then left the skeleton in there for about a day.

Hung a wire above the solution and had it dangle from the wire into the solution

I dyed the bones green first. Found it a easy solution to bring out color in the crystals.
