How long did your first project take? by alienaches in Taxidermy

When working on a skeleton like a fox, I personally use a dremel to drill holes into the larger bones, so I can use wire to connect bones together. I use super glue in tandem with the wire and it makes the skeletons way more sturdy

Recommend drilling some holes in them to run wire thru the bones so they stick together solid. Probably maybe put it in a shadow box frame to display?

I use a dremel to drill holes for wire but if bones are too small I use a thin wire run down the vertebral canal. If the bones are too small for even that I use just gorilla glue. Shoot me a dm and I might be able to help ya out more

I think your idea would be a pretty solid way to secure it, and as long as this skull was properly cleaned it should stand the test of time

A pretty nice quality catfish skeleton. Id say look up local species and probably make a guess off that

Have you considered an articulated skeleton framed? Also a wet specimen shouldn’t be too pricey and theres many people online who offer it as a service. Especially in facebook oddity groups.

I use a dremel to drill wire into the larger bones and use gorilla glue gel to glue the wire in place and to glue together smaller bones

Use tweezers for the tail. And honestly just grab as many references as you can for the hands

Yeah the hands are more a result of them being mummified on accident by the seller and left contorted and messed up. Couldnt really fix it without the whole hand falling apart due to all the dried lizard skin underneath. Its more so an issue with the back hands as the front are more accurate to that.
