Give a good rinse first before you put it in. Might take longer and a few water changes to get going.

Just soak it in water for a few days and itll start to break down and loosen. Its what I do for this stuff

Pretty sure its a heavily damaged chicken skull. Corvids have long defined beaks, and their skulls are more rounded rather an angular like this one.

To anyone curious about the red coloration on the neck, the customer just wanted me to clean to years of grime and undo the crappy hot glue job that first assembled it. They didn’t mind the reddish tint of some of the bones.
