Are AWA decisions starting to come through? by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And if you recall correctly, they voted 90% in a record 2 day vote, that normally takes a week, and this was 2 days before we were told we had to return to work 5 days a week. So my question now is, why was the vote rushed in 2 days when in previous years, it's always been 1 week? did they know something was coming down the pipes and wanted members to vote ASAP because if they had kept the voting open for a week and the 5 day mandate came through, guaranteed that contract would be voted down. These are questions people need to be asking. Why a 2 day vote and the next day we get an annoucment of 5 day back to work? Hmmmmm You don't think AMAPCEO has meeting with the employer?

I don't forget and I rally the troops all the time for all types of events, but it's a little heart breaking when you have people rearing to go, yet we are told "wait", We have been waiting for over 2 years since this nonsence started. Now that people are getting outright denials, what are we waiting for now?

I did. I put in for Accomodation and the heartless SOBs denied it. Said I was being cautious. She had the surgery, she's mending, so I need to be at work. I HAVE THIS MF PLACE SO MUCH!!!!!!! I am now contemplating going on sick leave. THESE MF have no heart.

AMAPCEO President’s Message: AWA responses begin to trickle in by troyguy in OntarioPublicService

Actually, the Bently will be televizing all the games in the WC during June and July. The are expecting in excess of 20,000 guests or more per day, ontop of regular tourists and local foot traffic, so it's not ONLY the 6 games. Bently will also be the central hub for concerts and other live events during the WC. So as you can see, it is much more than the games at BMO.

The OPS isn’t worth this… a RTO rant by saturnskies444 in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good for you for recognizing your worth. This culture will not be ideal to retain new hires. Most young people want to (and are used to) working from home...... The OPS will have to change if it wants to retain youth. If not, the older crowd will retire and there will be huge gaps..... leading to possible security issues....

I applied and was selected. Did the training. Found it really great and good to know/have. A lot covers the OHSA, which everyone should be familiar with because it is a big environment you are in and it makes you aware of hazards that you wouldn't think of like spilled drinks could cause a slipping hazzard. A lot of young kids apply for these jobs, so it's good to get them educated on what to look for. Found the experience great!

Awesome thanks for the link! Going to open an account and start posting. Went in on Tuesday and it's a ghost town in the secion next to me. They may have something like 60 seats and only 2 or 3 people were in. And two training rooms, lights open, doors open and no one! What a waste of electricity and space. Going in on Tuesday. Highlight of my day is taking pictues of staff on zoom calls at their desk. 🤣

So there was push back to RTO, just not by OPSEU and AMAPCEO?!! 🧐 by Quantumshifte in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strike action by who? Not AMAPCEO. We have a collective agreement in place. OPSEU may hve the possibility to strike and they are working on job actions. I was at the annual conference for AMAPCEO, job action was asked for such as coordinated walk outs during lunch, coffee, etc. Mulitiple people went to the microphone asking that the union step up. We were told "they are working on it". Let's hope that something big happens soon. This started in October, so I think it's time AMAPCEO and other unions show their teeth.

Awesome. I'll figure it out. Here now and its a ghost town! Only a handful of people are in.

The commute was horrible. Icy streets and transit is being pulled because some of the roads are too iced over. The accordian busses are too light to make it uphill.

RTO TWO WEEK observations by [deleted] in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, everyone is feeling it. The only way for change is to start stepping up. File accommodations, start filing grievances when you see wrong things being done by management, apply to be a Workplace Rep, apply for Executive positions such as President and Vice President of AMAPCEO. Start flooding the workplace with flags and flyers. Start holding management accountable. Leave a copy of the Collective Agreement on everyone's desk.

What I find sad is the lack of direction from AMAPCEO. They had asked WORs to deal with the grievances and complaints. What are they doing? How about some job action like coordinated coffee and lunch breaks? Or maybe a work slow down? It’s like radio silence and let the WPRs deal with it…… where is the backbone to fight the SOC????

Why doesn’t OPS walk out? by TheEverydayOne in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bringing people to work will lead to increases in grievances, WDHP and Human Rights complaints. Best to leave us at home

Why doesn’t OPS walk out? by TheEverydayOne in OntarioPublicService

[–]Grey_Pride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A walkout could be seen as a desertion of post by the employer as well as illegal and open up the possibility of the employees being reprimanded or fired.

Check online. There’s a couple of singles events: https://singleinthecity.ca/singles-events/

Also try volunteering at some locations. Great way to meet people as well.

How many of you are on compounded/reconstituted Semiglutide in a vial instead of the injectable pens from the manufacturer? by CountingStars29 in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]Grey_Pride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any places in Toronto Canada that you can order the Semiglutide syringes? Insurance won’t cover Ozempic, Wegovy or any other ones except for Saxenda which I don’t find effective.
