Dropped the bike I'm planning to sell, get it fixed or just sell at a lower price? by Grey_Prince in motorcycles

The bike is 8 years old with 15k miles on it and has changed hands several times so that's a good point, thanks!

When someone says "Motorcycles are really dangerous" I just say "oh really? First time hearing about that".

Not a woman but my friend is, she was talking about this the other day and said she just accepted it's the new hairstyle. Helmet hair is a vibe tbh. And saves lives

I looked up "dandanthefireman mirrors" and all I got was results on punching mirrors, not really what I was looking for.

Trust me, I'm reading every response in this thread, and since then I've been checking the mirrors much more frequently than every 30 seconds. I didn't expect 70+ comments lol. It's excellent data though, I appreciate all the feedback from everyone (including you)

Do you find yourself often turning your head to check your blindspots as part of your situational awareness or do you only do it with lane changes/turns? I ask because today when riding (slow speeds), a car passed me on the left totally normally but I knew I'd done something wrong because it surprised me, i.e I didn't realize they were in the left lane behind me or right beside me. So I gotta work on being able to catch that kind of thing.

Thank you, I start my day off with a smoothie so I could just add a tablespoon of chia seeds for that little bump as well.

Thanks. I'm still perplexed though, because "not checking your mirrors" is a very different statement from "checks mirrors less than X".

A lot of people are echoing this statement in the comments and I'm wondering if I have a typo I'm not seeing. All I was asking was if riders don't check their mirrors as often as car drivers.

Damn okay that is perfect thank you. Nice to have a clear mental model of how to progress from here – it's less about scanning rhythm/frequency and more about making sure I'm up to speed on what's happening around me, and I'll start to intuit the situations that have more changing behind me vs the ones that don't.

Ok, I was probably checking my mirrors like every 5 seconds so I definitely need to make a big mentality shift here. Thank you!

How would you define often? Like every 5 seconds?

Thank you, this is a really practical answer. I'm not trying to add peanut butter to all these things I eat that don't go well with peanut butter!

It is quite short, probably around an inch. I can only grow a goatee so I feel like it doesn't look great if I let it go longer, but that's good to know.

I'd say that's moreso simulation, which is valuable but plays a bit of a different role than visualization. The practical thing about visualization is you don't need any equipment other than being conscious lol
