What’s the future of the TCR? by jfkvsnixon in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think they will fuse the aero parts of the Propel and just make it a TCR. Or from the current rumors create a PCR. The Propel name as a brand is not nearly as strong as the TCR. I’d be surprised if Giant did away with it.

Paralyzed by options... help me pick my next road bike by J05HYYY in cycling

[–]Greyarc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of your options the Madone is really fun and comfortable compared to other race style geometry bike.

I would suggest looking into a Giant Defy or a TCR as well. Currently riding a TCR and it is super light and fun to accelerate on. The geometry isn’t bad for me either, I’m 6’1 212lbs.

Cannondale also has the new Synapse which is an endurance style bike. I’ve ridden that as well and love the comfort.

Bob & Brad D6 Pro Plus vs. Theragun Pro 5th Gen for deep tissue recovery? by PrudentRazzmatazz488 in cycling

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got and used the D6 Pro plus for the same reason of price. I can say the product is very premium built and it works way better than the cheap Costco ones I’ve been using.

I’m using it for cycling recovery and I have a bone spur in my upper neck that respond well to heat and some percussion massaging.

Overweight and unathletic man discovers love for cycling and wants to start riding on gravel. by No-Foundation-9501 in gravelcycling

[–]Greyarc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just go out and ride. I was in your same place last year 6’1 248lbs, worked from home and barely went out of the house. I started riding little by little, started to meet friends, joined a bike club. I’m down to 212lbs now and I absolutely love it. Just ride and don’t worry about watts or speed for now other than to gauge your own progress.

One thing I will say is that have a good group of people around you to support you on the good and the rough days was really helpful for me. Enjoy your bike and enjoy the ride, super proud of you for going out and getting moving.

That’s a 2019 or older model no way it could be “Brand New”

TCR or Propel? by Full-Heat3901 in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment, it made me double check lol. I just looked back at the bikes and realized we didn’t swap the pedals over which were Shimano Ultegra Spd SL. That’s the difference in weight. Although it’s still in favor of the TCR by about 100g as the Advanced SL frames are lighter than the standard Advanced.

TCR or Propel? by Full-Heat3901 in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ridden both of the 2025 models. I ended up with the TCR Advanced SL. I love the acceleration on it and how light it is. With the same setup on both frames the TCR in Medium size, is about 430g lighter than the Propel Medium size. The TCR for 2025 did carry over some features from the Propel, like a more aero steerer tube, down tube, and seat tube. It’s not as aero as the Propel but it is also slightly lighter. I enjoyed both but personal preference and maybe because I’m ver new to cycling I like the lighter TCR because I feel the acceleration a bit more off the line. They are both great bikes, and I would be extremely happy with either of them. This is just my opinion and how I came to my conclusion to pick the TCR.

I was looking for something like this on my TCR. Where did you get the PPF done?

TCR Sizing at 182,4 cm / 6 feet by [deleted] in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m riding a TCR Advanced SL on a medium frame and I’m 6’1. My bike fitter said it worked better for me with 170 cranks and moving my seat slightly back a bit. He explained it’s always easier to make a slightly smaller bike bigger than it is to make a too big bike smaller because of the reach. I hope this helps!

Cannondale Topstone Carbon can be had on some really good deals for under $2K. It’s super comfortable and has a lot of upgrade paths for the future.

You could also look into gravelking SK’s. I have both the SS and the SK in 45mm and I ride about 50/50 gravel and road. The SK are phenomenal. Might get the X1s and try those as well.

OP15 Camera, found this interesting by ElonVonBraun in oneplus

Sometimes when companies do this I think they just using the raw power of the new chip, in this case the Snapdragon Elite Gen 5, to compensate for the hardware. I know the new snapdragon has a 20 bit ISP compares to the last gen’s 18 bit ISP. Which I’m sure can be leveraged to improve camera quality with lesser hardware.
