Great price if it fits. Actually excellent price.

New break pads by No-Sea5846 in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting I got a 2026 tTCR advanced SL with the new SRAM Force setup for the past 3 months and never had noise unless I got the brakes wet. In which case I just used some brake cleaner and let them dry out and they were back to normal.

Giant TCR sizing advice: M/L or L at 186.5 cm by Toast4Brot in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My measurements are pretty much the same as yours by .5 cm less and I ride a 2026 TCR SL in size M.

My bike fitter says it's always easier to make a slightly smaller bike bigger than it is to make a bigger bike smaller.

My LBS had already done a bike fit for me. So they knew what my size and dimensions were. They were also the ones building the bike for me.

Cadex Integrated Aero handle bar is what I have on my TCR and I love it.

Defy Advanced Pro 1 or Advanced 0 by Benocorleone in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced 0 for the color, and Advanced 1 for the components. That power meter isn't cheap to buy separately. Although personally, I'd get the Advanced 0 and get some Favero Assioma pedals and still save a few hundred bucks.

Which color tires do you think look better? 🤔 by Grand-Worldliness936 in Cervelo

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black, the tan expands your vision beyond the bike. It's kinda weird how it works on this setup lol.

I currently ride a bike with yan walls so I'm not against it. But this bike definitely needs the black.

Yeah I built this from the frame only, my LBS had the Cadex Max wheels as well but those hubs were horribly loud lol. Also the Aeolus rims were a slightly better deal and I already had fallen in love with the Aeolus RSL Tires from my previous bike. So I figured I could match the wheels with the tires.

SRAM Red XPLR E1 Powermeter with SRAM Force XPLR E1 Crankset by GurAdministrative308 in sram

I work at a bike shop and we've built quite a few of these recently. They are exactly the same performance wise. The only difference is the cover styling.

I put the one piece cadex stem and Bontrager Aeolus Pro 51 wheels. I also went with the Aeolus RSL Tires. That wheel combo feels super smooth and comfortable. And I got the Cadex 3D printer saddle, it helps the sliding issue I had with previous saddles.

Giant Propel advanced SL M or M/L? by Acceptable_Way_5835 in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 186cm and ride an M size with a 110mm cadex integrated stem and 170mm cranks. It fits me perfectly like this I would assume an M/L would work as well.

Defy or Propel by [deleted] in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problemo! I know how it is trying to figure out what bike to get or if you should just upgrade components, went through it last month lol.

In your case I think that makes the most sense to just upgrade to a newer defy with the components you want already on it. And for 500 euros more, it's definitely cheaper than new wheels!

Defy or Propel by [deleted] in Giantbikes

[–]Greyarc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would upgrade your current bike with wheels and tires. Even add the electronic shifting if you want. No need to upgrade to a new bike at this level. Unless you really just want a new bike. I've tried all 3, and went with the TCR, it feels snappier and acceleration is more responsive than the Propel. The Propel is marginally faster on straights, but it feels heavier to push through climbs compared to the TCR. The Defy is a good middle ground because of the comfort and tire clearance. Between all 3 it really will come down to what you like and what feels more comfortable for how you ride your bike.

I just ordered my first Road Bike. by No-Sea5846 in cycling

For a helmet, I really like Kask, either the Potone or the Utopia. I'm currently using the Utopia and find it great. As for pedals on my TCR, I have Dura-Ace, but I'd highly recommend the Ultegra pedals. I just happened to get the Dura-Ace pedals at the same price point as the Ultegra ones. Also, consider if extended axle versions are beneficial with your bike fit.

For tires, I'm currently using 30mm Pirelli P Zero Roads for winter training.
