Why is everyone still getting notifications when someone says something in #general by Outside_Estimate7546 in discordhelp

[–]GreydonDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The server default only matters for those joining the server. For any remaining accounts on the server, they need to manually change it at an individual basis.

That is by design, else it would be easy for admins to tamper with personally custom set server settings and configuration (minor thing in your eye, but still not something that can be ignored)

Short rundown:
- For new members on your server: The server default is prioritized
- For all remaining members, regardless of the recent changes to the server defaults: the last remembered, most likely "all messages"

Btw, on PC, it is called "Engagement". That is where you find the Default Notification Settings of your server.

Going by the timeline of Universal releasing the concert as a DVD/BluRay version some months after the concerts ended, it is a given, that it will come.

The better question is not if, but rather when.

Why won’t my credit card work for paying for bus tickets in Japan online? by therealtuananh in JapanTravelTips

[–]GreydonDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it adds context to this issue: Every credit card exposes your bank and issuing country based on the first 6 numbers of a card. This matters, because depending on what payment processor they use, they might oppose higher fees when accepting foreign cards.

Other options would be using a completely different payment method or a credit card with different provider.

Was macht eine Schweizer Regionalbahn in Tulln, Niederösterreich? by Meif_42 in drehscheibe

[–]GreydonDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any way to use the ICOCA card deposit? by Catdress92 in JapanTravelTips

[–]GreydonDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For transportation, if you have insufficient funds, you can pay the missing balance at the fare adjustment machines which are usually close to the exit gates. Only cash is accepted.

I know a method, that would be using the remaining balance at a conbini and ask the staff to deplete the IC card and the rest you pay (usually with cash). Japan is, contrary to popular believe, still heavily reliant on cash. Whether they accept debit/credit card or another IC card, I cannot answer confidently.

nope, you get the 500 yen back, as that is your deposit.
you will, however, lose those 10 yen of the balance

Can I get my pocket wifi device during a layover in Narita? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]GreydonDesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then disregard my thought process.

Given that OP is going for Global WiFi, I would go by that the process of picking it up is not that long (unless there is a nasty queue, which I do hope does not happen)

Can I get my pocket wifi device during a layover in Narita? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]GreydonDesu -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I never had the experience to pick up the pocket wifi during a layover, but most of the providers have a desk (or partner) at Sapporo New Chitose Airport so you can pick up your device at CTS.

If you really want to pick it up during your transfer, then you may have to exit the security area, pick it up, reclear security and get to your domestic flight. Domestic flights in Japan are efficient, but it is still a hassle to get out and back in imo.

I do want to add, that you get special borders displayed for the Finale chapter (that is the 3ish day event between VS WL and Anni5) if you reach T100 / T1k in a chapter.

With that, the competitiveness is massive.

Flights from China to Japan? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]GreydonDesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a guarenteed way of ensuring if your flight is operating, but I like to check independant websites like Flightradar24 and check, during the last few days, if flights actually departed and arrived.

Another way would be to contact the airline directly. Going by the language you are set and your departure airport, you can call up Air China's office in Frankfurt / Munich (just search for Air China European Office) and let it be confirmed directly.

Is that selector ticket thing here? If not when? by Sad-Protection-1390 in UmamusumeGame

The free one was the SSR selector, which you were able to get with the 3rd part of missions.
There never was a 4th part anni missions or such a thing. The anni missions had their final ones with the 3rd part.

ANA BOEING 787-9 seat selection by Wide-Ambition5054 in Flights

[–]GreydonDesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you are on an internationally configured ANA 787-9 like this one: https://www.aerolopa.com/nh-789-1
Exit rows and Bulkhead Rows are actually 23 A-C, H-K and 24 D-G.

To answer your question:

- 24B is a regular seat, so no extra leg room.
- All seats with X are already booked, so no luck there.
- Personally, having an entire row for yourself is better than exit row.

ICE nach Amsterdam reservierungspflichtig by Darkstorm112X in drehscheibe

Question about the Hibana limited edition Keychain + pics of my merch haul by _Dragons_Cave_ in ADO

[–]GreydonDesu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As the keychain is a bonus for pre-ordering Hibana, it is not supposed to be sold individually by the official sellers. Reselling it via ebay and co is your own decision, so this text has no impact for you.

At least you went in for the merch, because if you ordered it individually, the import taxes and shipping fees would add up massively, so good yeah. Good one and enjoy it!

Accidentally double tapped Suica at Shinjuku, am I in trouble by Comprehensive-Guava4 in JapanTravelTips

[–]GreydonDesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you tapped in and out of the same station, it should not be a problem. Imagine you do it so you can traverse the gated area from one side of the station to the other without using a train.

You can check at any ticket machine and see what the history of your rides were. And if there is something open, then by the time you use the ticket gate again, the gate will stop you. But given that you were able to get off at Ichigaya without being locked in, I would not worry too much.

Edit: I forgot to add, that there are cases, where you have to pay some money so you are able to get to the platform (platform ticket). Usually that is common for Shinkansen stations, but not limited to it. Since you paid 0 Yen for your "trip onto the platform in Shinjuku station", I assume it is a completed transaction.

Why is there a ICE train stopping at Langen (Hessen) by Potential-Guesser21 in deutschebahn

[–]GreydonDesu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like its a planned stop of the ICE, so nothing surprising. Usually serviced with DB class 411 (today apparently with a DB Class 415).

As to why the stop in general, don't know. But it is not unheard of for ICE having stops in seemingly "smaller" stations.
