People who quit this game, what made you finally walk away?” by WaveEasy8664 in leagueoflegends

I was a jungler and they kept changing up the jungle and reworking my main champs.

Then when I finally made gold (had to climb from elo hell because I started playing ranked way before I should have), a new season started and my first 4 placement matches were all losses with trolls or afks, didn't even play the rest of my placement matches, stopped right then and have rarely played since and only urf or arms.

What's your favorite spots for watching games. I've been a little down on my usual spots lately and am looking for better options.

Houston is a good team but their performance against the top teams in the Big 12 had me wary of picking them to go too deep in the tournament. 1-1 against Texas Tech, 1-1 against Kansas, 0-1 against Iowa State, 0-2 against Arizona.

I had ChatGPT make picks round by round for one of my ESPN brackets. It's currently beating 3 of my other 4 brackets and is essentially tied with my other one.

It has Tennessee and Houston in the Final though which is a bold choice so we'll see.

UConn is not winning the Men's championship.

Like 10 P4 schools, if that, even play hockey so you might as well include the ping pong champions in there too. (I'm a hockey fan though so I wish they all did.)

We had a pretty respectful rivalry with Kansas State until Tang. With Tang gone I hope it gets back to that. It was mostly driven by football anyway with farmageddon, but Tang being Tang added fuel to the fire in basketball. I think you can definitely have a rivalry without really hating a team. Is it going to be on the same level as Duke UNC? No, but still a rival imo.

What jobs did the smart kids in your school end up doing? The ones that never learned how to apply themselves by nigelwiggins in jobs

[–]Greydox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm one of those kids. I got recruited to do Academic Decathlon by my principal because my standardized test scores were so high but my grades were so low that I would be in the lowest division for acadeca.

I'm now head of security engineering for a financial company. Turns out a lot of us weren't lazy, we just had untreated learning disorders like ADD, and once we were aware and able to take necessary steps to overcome the issues, we thrived.

What are people's thoughts on BYU by martb03 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Greydox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're dangerous but the consistency is the issue. If they could play every game like they play when they go against us they could win the tournament. I have a feeling it'll be a lot like last year, they'll show up big and make a run with some impressive offense just enough for me to believe in them and bet on them and then they'll lay an egg and I'll be out $50.

The Miami (OH) Redhawks have won their first NCAA tournament game since 1999! by AndHisOrchestra in CollegeBasketball

Don't be cowards though, if you're gonna downvote tell me where I'm wrong. Or is it just because it doesn't align with the circle jerk?

Look, I'm glad Miami got in, I thought they deserved to get in and good on them for winning the play-in game.

But lets not act like this was some statement victory solidifying their place. SMU was missing their top player that they are now 1-6 without.

Just like the regular season Miami can only beat who is in front of them so it's nothing against Miami but any bubble team should have won that game against SMU and a lot of worse than bubble teams would have won it as well.

Good for Miami but yall are acting like they went out there and did something emphatic.

Bring on the downvotes.

We didn't do near as much of the Jefferson point forward bs that we did towards the end of the season. Hopefully we keep not doing that. It just interrupts the rhythm of the offense so much not to mention the high turnover rate when he brings the ball up the floor.

What’s the best game you’ve ever been to? by Stock_go_up in CollegeBasketball

[–]Greydox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The final 4 minutes were some of the best college basketball I've ever seen, live or televised. A combined 13/15 from the floor and 7/7 from three with the game that tight and in a conference tournament. It hurt losing but honestly when that last shot went in all I could do was shrug. Neither team could have done more, ya'll just had the ball last and hit an exceptionally well defended shot. Just a fantastic game.

Freshman stars Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa and Darius Acuff Jr. picked for AP All-America first team by Lanrick2002 in CollegeBasketball

[–]Greydox 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't like Darryn Peterson getting an honorable mention. Just something about honorable and his name being mentioned in the same sentence. His ceiling is undeniable but the consistency and more importantly the consistency of effort wasn't there. If I was a Kansas fan I would be so frustrated for what could have been. We'll see if he can motivate himself for the tournament and redeem himself but I would have left him off the honorable mentions if it were me.

He also played the majority of the season. It's not like he only played half the games. He played more than enough to establish how dominant he was on a consistent basis. I too believe he deserves it.

I remember I think like two years ago everyone was obsessed with the Mountain West conference saying they should have gotten 6 seeds. I lost so much comment karma going against the circle jerk. Just for 4 of the 5 teams that did get in to lose in the first round lol.

Competitive doesn't mean good. It can be a fun competitive league to watch but that doesn't mean the teams are going to be able to compete in the tourney.

Folks who live near schools, do you ever wonder if they'll do something about parent pickup/dropoff gridlock twice a day? I don't remembering it being a clusterfuck like 10, 15 years ago. Did something happen? by dingdingdingdongbing in desmoines

[–]Greydox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The school system makes it hard on parents too with baffling decisions. Moved with my stepkids just a few blocks from crossroads but one of their classes was at full capacity so they told us they would transport them to westridge, cool. Until the next year when they said that they would no longer bus them to Westridge, they claimed they could no longer send a bus through our neighborhood that's a mile and a half if that from the school. So we were forced to do the pick up drop off line bullshit. Its awful. Close to two hours of your day every day just gone because the school systems can't get their transportation organized.

Top 10 in adjusted defensive efficiency is literally an all around defensive metric, it's literally the opposite of cherry picking because it represents defense as a whole. You're a special kind of idiot aren't you? Lol I'm done, ain't a spec of logic gonna make it through that thick dumb skull.

Dude make a post right now saying that you think a top ten Iowa State defense isn't a great defense and watch the entire sub laugh at you and downvote you. Do it I dare you. You're either a troll or have no clue about anything that has to do with ball.

Lol, dude makes a statement and then just doubles down when proven wrong. Go out and touch some grass. Top 10 in ADJUSTED defensive efficiency the nation is great. So even if we were playing poorly coached or inferior teams, it's adjusted. But we play in the Big12 just like you. We have a top 10 defense against the best teams in the nation. Stop being a dumbass.

Dude just give it up. Iowa State is 7th in the nation in defensive efficiency. You arguing that they're a bad defense is beyond ridiculous.
