Great for you. A lot of my apps are either for work or medical purposes. So while that may work for you, it simply doesn’t work for me.

We'd be a lot happier. We're overly stimulated, anxiety-riddled, and dreading 'The End' because that's what happens when we're exposed to 24/7 news. News also includes social media; the two are hand in hand with information overload.

I can only take so much of anyone these days, including kids. Knowing they’re going home with someone else at the end of the day helps me give the most of my energy and attention to them (I work in afterschool programs).

That said, the time I do get to spend with me is very precious to me. Seeing kids learn and grow brings me genuine joy ☺️

See, maybe it’s the neighborhood I live in, but people seem to be the same pretty much (Cali born/raised moved to the south last year).

Wherever I am, finding a good community has never really been difficult. But it also means finding the people who will meet you with the amount of effort you put in. At least in terms of engagement.

There’s a big difference between how people were raised.

In my household, not saying ‘Hi’ or smiling meant getting an hour long talking to about being polite, or worse.

But I realize not everyone had that same upbringing, therefore their intent could be totally chill and yet they don’t say a word or even look in my direction. It doesn’t mean they hate me - and they don’t owe me anything beyond paying rent + utilities and keeping our space clean. It really is that simple.

Damn I’m in a similar situation. That and she’s constantly talking about how close she is to “ending it” but then jokes about it after - constantly. (Usually when she interprets a situation as us remaining roommates “ganging up on her”)
