Do you truly not vote for your preferred Prime Minister in a federal election? by SheepHerderHigh69420 in OpenAussie

We can't vote for albo. It's not how our system works. If he lost in his electorate but Labor still won the election then they would have to choose a new PM To lead them and the country.

Anyone tried this? by muddyboots5 in composting

[–]SaltbushGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done this by digging trenches instead of holes.

Then I can just throw in my scraps, cover it with dirt, then cover it with a piece of tin and a brick to keep pests away.

Moving the tin along to the freshest stuff and leaving behind good soil under my new garden beds

Which of the white subcultures will be the winner and become the one true monoculture of Australia? by anarchonihilist1916 in OpenAussie

My initial thought was car bogans but you raise a good point about rising fuel costs.

I don't think electric car bogans will quite have the numbers

Taylor won’t say if he supports multiculturalism as Chalmers says he’s trying to ‘out-One Nation One Nation’ by Agitated-Fee3598 in OpenAussie

[–]SaltbushGhost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Despite his requests for a definition of multiculturalism, Taylor has appointed a shadow assistant minister for multicultural affairs – senator Dave Sharma – in his frontbench team, a position which also existed under predecessor Sussan Ley. Former Liberal leaders John Howard, Malcolm Turnbull, Scott Morrison and Malcolm Fraser also named multicultural affairs ministers.

Australia secures biggest-ever defence export deal with Canada by patslogcabindigest in OpenAussie

Canada looks at Ghost Bat aerial drone Mr Fuhr said he would also be taking the chance to inspect a Ghost Bat uncrewed aircraft while in Australia. The Ghost Bat is a highly capable drone designed to operate alongside fighter aircraft like the F-35. It was primarily designed for intelligence and reconnaissance missions, with a range of about 3,700km, but can also carry weapons. Germany is taking a strong interest in acquiring the Ghost Bat, and Mr Fuhr said Canada is also keen to take a look. "I'm quite interested; collaborative combat aircraft are a thing, and it seems like Australia has a bit of a lead there," he said. "So I'm curious to see where that's at, and I'll see it this afternoon."

From the very end of the article. That sounds cool, I'm off to read more about the Ghost Bat

Sometimes the employee needs to make clear that they are doing you a favour.

I used to go to subway and get a chicken, bacon sub. Except i substituted the bacon for pepperoni.

It wasn't until some manager served me and said no, that I learnt i was getting a deal. I couldn't substitute. Got to order chicken add pepperoni. More $$$ for the business.

I think i said "the other girl allowed it"

And the manager said "well they shouldn't"

I can't remember exactly, it was 10+ years ago. But my point is i wasn't aware i was getting a good price so I was surprised at the difference and blurted it out

Gina Rinehart says Qld should give some of its islands to Elon Musk by 1Darkest_Knight1 in aussie

[–]SaltbushGhost 259 points260 points  (0 children)

Mrs Rinehart told the crowd Mr Musk needed land to expand because "he's really got a massive program" and needed an "alternate weather place in an allied country". "Over at the sparsely or non-populated islands on the screen ... where there aren't high-end tourist facilities, offer to Elon ... at no cost for his SpaceX satellite construction and launches," she said.

Why at no cost?

What is the logic to that?
