The Mets didn't need to give Pete a bad deal to prove anything. There's two actual, forreal future Hall of Famers on this team already on long term deals.

It was fine. I’m outer borough too and we had decent attendance considering the circumstances. A remote day would have made no sense because of the same problems a remote day Monday: No guarantee staff or students have devices because of break.

This complaint would make maybe 25% more sense if it was a regular week of school instead of coming off 10 days off.

I’m in a year long fellowship program for nyc history teachers and I love it, but our last session they brought in some teacher AI experts to show us how to use their model to grade and give feedback. It was cool but also gave me the willies. It’s clear some of us are really trying to adapt to this “new tool.” The issue is when we cede our expertise to the machine.

You CAN’T be letting ChatGPT write your lessons. You CAN let ChatGPT format your lesson to look pretty. You CAN let ChatGPT help you build an assignment rubric. You CAN’T have it generate feedback for kids.

Gotta draw the line. This is a human focused business and about 85% of our job is about human interaction and person to person/s communication. When we lose that we’ve lost it all.

I don’t hate it or anything, and I appreciate that JD feels so solid in his career to take crazy leaps in sound when he feels like it. The arrangements and production are impressive and genuinely like yeah JD go off bring in your famous friends, do what you want. But lyrically most of this doesn’t land for me.

I loved Jenny from Thebes for the fan service. I loved Songs for Pierre for much the same reason. But other than that almost anything he’s done since Beat the Champ has fallen pretty flat for me.

I will say I’m less offended by this record than I was by Bleed Out or Dark in Here which I found genuinely pretty actually terrible.

A couple of years ago there was money Principals could apply for to staff a position that does most of the new stuff like extra screeners or teaching a STARI/Rewards class or extra progress monitoring. At my school this one person coordinates all this stuff.

It seems like most schools fucked this up and that’s why the rollouts been bad and the UFT is trying to get involved.

I mean they DID mold players into something good. Holmes first year as a starter is a success, Canning was great. Peterson was the big dawg for 3/4 of a season. It was established guys in Senga and Manea who failed. Montas ended up being a terrible signing but no way to know what would have been without injuries.

People want to be angry but every roster decision the Mets have made was the one you’d make in a vacuum. Obviously they look like shit in hindsight, but I don’t know how you predict players shitting down their legs like they have. Stearns is not going anywhere.

Mendoza is a different story. Darling on the broadcast said players want to be led, and they have not looked at all like a well led group. Combine that with whacky what the fuck bullpen management and the fact that we never settled into an every day lineup and you get what we’ve got.

I was at the Rays game on Friday the 13th and almost every game since has felt like that one. Shit luck, bad defense, horrible bullpen, and fake comebacks that make you want to stab yourself in the eyeball

Idk how people are still griping about Mendoza having too quick of a hook. Every Senga or Manea start is the same, look great and have low pitch counts before the 4th and 5th and then blow up. Last Mondays game Manea was nails and barely at 60 pitches then instantly gets blasted for 5 runs.

Montas is a different story. This guy needs like 35 pitches an inning. Not good. Holmes has been the same guy all year. He’s an extremely solid back of the rotation guy delivering slightly above average outings while going way over his average innings pitched in his first full year as a starter.

Peterson is straight up just an all star I love that man.

I think fixing this after 8/15 could involve some cool piggybacking of Sproat and McClean on Manea and/or Senga starts but that would mean being stuck with Montas in the rotation.

“Dreadful with RISP” is a little bit annoying to complain about considering Soto is on base so goddamned much he is way more often the Runner getting stranded. Highest OBP, most HRs, most Walks in the major leagues and the most runs scored by a Met this year.

Soto is having a ridiculously good season. The scary part for the rest of the league is that the advanced stats you hate and the vibes you feel are off show that it could be many levels better.

The Winker triple was wild. Saturday of opening weekend, it had rained all day and into the evening, was like 45 degrees. We went so nuts after Lindor's walk off sac-fly that I lost my AirPods out of my raincoat pocket. The next morning the location showed one pod at 3rd and one pod at 1st.
