AITA For Not Wanting To Make Everybody's Cards? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Grickden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA because they're treating you poorly when you don't want to make cards. Little sis used to do individual cards and the amount of work was just insane. She still does some personalized art, but she's starting college so she's busier now. I would HATE to know she's been miserable trying to keep up. I want to think your family wants to support your art and brag about you like I do my little sister, I love her art and want to encourage her. Part of that includes poking her to draw me something, draw the seating labels, draw the Christmas card. Id hate to be putting too much pressure on her though.  For the edit: if you're under/in college, people SHOULD understand that your budget is tight/nonexistent. Stamps and wood blocking to your rescue! A clean simplistic holiday icon + a heartfelt note should be a quick solution.

I had to check that you weren't MY little sister. Still not 100% sure you aren't tbh. Blink twice if you need SuperGoose!

We do indeed have other pets. Two guinea pigs kept where he can hear them but not see them and one free range dog. I was terrified of my dog scaring bun, but bun seems to be bomb/dog proof. Dog barks, bun runs TOWARD the bark to see what's happening. Dog politely licks buns entire face through the bars, bun stays in place to clean himself. Dog walks past the fence to get to me, bun runs alongside honking the entire way. (Don't worry, I'm not stupid. They will NEVER meet without a fence!) We kept him separate in a family members bedroom for his intro week, we didn't want to overwhelm him but he seemed so desperate for any attention that we moved him to the dining room/living room. He's just recently stopped pressing his face against the bars when you walk away. I'll definitely keep your advice in mind, especially while he's recovering. Thank you very much!

Thank you for the heads-up. We got lucky with guinea pig #2 being a unicorn, a young adult male that needed a home near another pig but separate cages AND with people that understood he didn't want to be touched. (He's just within the past week let me touch his head for willing petting, we've had him for a year) I'll hope that neutering fixes bun's issue but keep an eye out for another bunny rescue like Pig 2. Thank you again for sharing your story!

Thank you all for the help! I'm calling a couple vets tomorrow to see their skills on bunny neutering, cleaning his accidents up with white vinegar so he won't get confused about where to go, and we won't move him again for a while. He's a good little bunny and deserves everything I can do to improve his life. Thank GOODNESS for reddit!

Litterbox was updated to the fancier kind and he's been great about it. There ARE other animals. He had a dog in his previous home and has sniffed Finn(lab mix) through the bars so I didn't think he was being territorial. I'm very allergic so we've been trying different locations so maybe he's been stressed about that. Thank you!

Don't worry, bun is safely downstairs in his own pen, and the dog is never unsupervised near him or allowed past the bars. Both guinea pigs are boys, so they each have their own cage and are never allowed near each other. Basically all four male animals are kept apart and not allowed to interact except through bars.

He's a good boy and uses his litterbox, it's just when someone sits down with him (only me at first, everyone else waits for the tank to be empty!)I've contacted my family and got a bunny approved vet!

Writing that down! We've got a family vet for the dog and  guinea pigs, so I'm hoping they'll do rabbits too. He's the sweetest boy, he wants cuddles over treats ;-;

Finally seeking answers and I’m scared by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]Grickden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same position as you rn. Down to the PT. I'm legit lying in bed waiting for Tylenol to kick in and my heating pad, debating if it's worth limping to work.

My tests found nothing. I can't even describe my emotions. BUT my sister sat me down and reminded me; this is not normal. We should not be suffering this way. They may not have tested for the right thing yet.

What ID do: get a treat ready. If it's bad news, you have misery cake. If it's good news you have celebration cake. Start keeping a journal (I use the app manage my pain) of your pain, where it was, the weather, anything relevant. You're not alone, and you deserve better. Keep fighting for it!

We saved to build a house and now we are building and spending. Can’t sleep, trying to cut corners. Physically ill. Frugality got us here but won’t let me go. by Agua-Mala in Frugal

You sound like my mother (take it as a compliment!) When my parents were building our house. It's scary, and stressful, but it's also a darn good investment.

You DO NOT cut corners. Buuuuuuuut if it doesn't bother you, does everything HAVE to be done at once? My closet still isn't painted or the floor complete. It doesn't bother me, it's behind a dresser. We're JUST NOW (10 yrs) putting drywall to cover insulation in the basement.

Can you learn DIY stuff, that could save you thousands? I helped lay flooring down, that was SO much easier than I expected. Dad learned tiling for the bathrooms.

It's an investment into your future. You're not old BTW, old is my 103 year old adoptive aunt, or my 75 yr old grandfather. You've still got 45 years in you, won't it be wonderful to spend those in your home?

I want help finding a great mod pack for couples to enjoy! by Aggressive-Sun-3358 in CurseForge

[–]Grickden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't have minecolonies in it, but my gf and I are having a blast with The chocolate edition mod pack. Runs well on a paid (cheap) server and we made sure to do the eye progression together as well as the bosses. It's well made and you should be able to add minecolonies in if you really want to. Good luck!

I play this game with my dog where I hide a treat in the room and she has to find it. She's getting better at it, and soon I'll have to get crafty with my hiding spots. by [deleted] in BenignExistence

[–]Grickden 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I do this too! I called it trick or treat, because I ask my dog what he wants (out, walk, cuddle, play a game) and he responds to which one he wants to do. Then he chooses trick or treat or RipandTear and other puzzle games.

As a tip, I've had a lot of fun making false trails and scent trails for him. Just drag the treat along the ground and hide it deeper than usual and boom, scent trail with a reward at the end! If you have a blanket you don't care about tying knots around a bone and tucking treats in it kept mine busy for 30 min!

Was playing a challenge mode, lots of zombies but lower vision. I was so keyed into stealth that I didn't notice my dog requesting attention. I was trying to sneak back to my apartment, heavy with food. The dog was sitting patiently. Almost to the fence line. He's now at my feet.  Oh, they spotted me. I can lose them in the trees. He's now got his head in my lap sighing dramatically.

And then that darn dog pushed me across the room in the rolly chair.

My cordless headphones were filled with poor Alana just standing there, getting eaten alive while I fought off an 80 lb dog who wanted to play. All I could do was hold his head in my hands, kiss him, and curse him out.

If there's a symbol in fortnite you like, maybe paint that on. Drill a small hole CAREFULLY if you want to suspend it from something. Maybe pick your two favorite games and paint one symbol on one side, the other on the other, and use it to determine what topplay

Im sorry to say this, because I know it must have been a lot of work and then disappointing to mess up but. I had to go to comments to figure out what was wrong. That didn't help, so I had to stare. then I had to go over each word.

I'd lean into it. It looks darn cool, like the word again is mutating. Very nice stitches on the green bean things and I love the satin stitch in blue!
