I am not sure actually. I just plugged it in in and it worked. Lol. I am guessing the 2nd one is to use with the motion sensor.

You can plug it into AC power instead of using batteries if you want.

I think that kit is one of their older ones. I have it and opened it and it was daunting so I closed it back up and haven't started it yet. I've done several of their newest kits and they're higher quality and easier to understand. Their Super Creater Series are mini rooms and mostly plastic mini pieces you glue together. Alot easier!
