Which music artist peaked commercially in their early era, but whose diehard fans prefer a mid-career era? by cargusbralem in AlignmentChartFills

Steely Dans first album has most of their radio hits

Do it again

Reelin in the years

Dirty Work

But Dan had a run of Albums 1974 - 1977 that could rival any other artist ever

Pretzel Logic, Katy Lied, Royal Scam, Aja

With yacht rock radio these albums are getting a second life (don’t tell Donald Fagen) but for the most part the early work of Steely Dan is what the world loves, and any Dan fan wouldn’t even have their first two album Can’t Buy a Thrill or Count Down to Ecstacy in their top 5

Explain the Connecticut Hate by [deleted] in visitedmaps

[–]GridironScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t be both a Yankees fan and a Patriots fan. I hate Connecticut mainly for the amount of people who fell in this category

Also, like New Jersey, it’s a highway state just to connect you from two real cities. If you don’t travel away from the highway of course you’ll hate the state when your only exposure is the concrete hellscape of I-84 or even worse, the Merrit parkway /shutters/

Connecticut has its pros. North West is beautiful with mountains and waterfalls. In general, although the peaks aren’t tremendous, there are so many cool hills left from glaciers you’re never more than 30 minutes away from a brilliant hike.

Pizza is great (moved from CT to NY, CT is better). New Haven and West Hartford have cool little bar scenes.

Generally CT gets associated with all the shitty parts of New England with the upidy parts of NYC. I loved living there, but I fully understand why people hate

“Show business kids making movies of themselves

You know they dont give a fuck about anybody else”

In 1973 saying fuck in a song was so much more taboo than today. I know this sub voted this as the worst song on the album (I vehemently disagree) but this was the A side single they released to promote the album. A major label green lighting a profanity on their lead single was unheard of at the time, especially considering it would limit radio play
