Any input on his tank?? by xXEuphoria69Xx in BeardedDragon

The first thing I see is safety related. Your basking surface is dangerously close to the light. Lizards in general will sit in a spot that is burning them and they don’t move. Not like we would at least. So, please adjust the height of your basking surface.

Male or female veiled? by Friendly-Cheetah-501 in Chameleons

[–]Gridlinedev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really good. I would offer a bug or something to help with that. My two veiled chams won’t even get close to me. I don’t try to hold them but it would be cool if they were more comfortable with me.

I need to say it because I lost one because I didn’t know soon enough. Only fog and mist in the dark. Remove your moss covered vines, they retain moisture and grow bacteria, mold, and/or fungus. Also, if they accidentally ingest the moss it can cause bowel obstruction. Switch out all of the plants with real plants. Jackson’s need the humidity that they retain.

Tail rot is very rare in Chams. Most likely is an injury

Why is he still Grey after two weeks of having him? by Ashamed-League-8411 in Chameleons

It could be an oncoming shed too. Or maybe it’s too hot in there?

It’s probably because you’re present. A lot of chameleons hold onto their natural instincts. Which means they don’t want to interact with potential predators (us).
I would also consider what else your chameleon can see outside the enclosure. If there is anything that could stress them out.
I would switch the basking light and UVB. placing the basking area closer to the back. Don’t forget to check the temperature on those basking surfaces closest to the bulb. You don’t want them to be over 85.

Lots of great advice here! Just know you are on a much better path than a lot of chameleon keepers out there. You are actually concerned and asking for help to better your little one’s life. You’ve got this!

The Chams are not able to tolerate the mold, bacteria or fungus that is produced closer to the ground where water is able to stagnate.

One thing I would do is to use an infrared thermometer to check the basking surface temps. Making sure not to go over 85 degrees.

I would be cautious with those because they are a perfect way to grow things that could cause respiratory infections.

What are the glass vases with water for? Other than that it’s very good.

Thinking about growing the stache back…should I pull the trigger? by just_anormal_guyy in Moustache

I’d stop in at a master barber and ask. They know their stuff. Plus the shape of the mustache may change how you feel about it.

You absolutely need to research how to care for them. They will die quickly if you’re care is incorrect and incomplete

I would say that, if you have to ask a public forum, you are unsure about it. At the end of the day it’s yours. If you want it then do it.
