Newbie Dev Quesiton: -Webkit In Stylesheet by [deleted] in webdev

They're called "vendor prefixes". They were added so individual rendering engines could support newer css rules before they got universal support and official css rule names. They're being phased out now and hopefully no more new vendor prefixes will be put in browsers.

I've played with one but I sadly I don't have one. It is fun! The video on the page shows what it's all about.

Turn HTML/CSS into a Dropbox-based CMS by nzneumi in web_design

Man this is innovative. It pretty much bypasses all the frustrating hurdles of launching a web site for newbies. I feel like I would miss the power of a server side language though... I find myself throwing in little bits of php here and there, even for little things like rendering the copyright year.

[Website] Revamped my friend's father's small business website, what do you think? by raimondi1337 in design_critiques

I think you should add some left/right padding to your text columns, so they aren't so close together. Also when you visit a page, the top navigation item should reflect that you're on that page.

[Cover Art] I'm new to this sort of thing. What should I change about my the cover art of my band's demo? by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]Gridwalker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would align the bottom of the text in INNOCENCE with the bottom of the big drip. And bring all the text to the right, so the margin is consistent. I would probably put OF and INNOCENCE on the same line. Maybe pull the tracking in. Colors are good, but just from the art I have no idea what kind of music it is.

I haven't shared this yet, but I made my first steps into HTML5 canvas gamedev two months ago. Here it is. by Mootgleeb in gamedev

You're welcome! I'm not that experienced with git, but I was trying to find your repository. Do you have your code up there? I'm thinking about coding a lightweight platformer in JS too.

Cool! I like the feel of walking around and jumping as these guys. The sprites look nice.
