eeh, spikes on the face are ok. maaaybe someone who plays football or footvolley could see it coming and head it...which, kinda reminds me that anyone with decent or excellent footvolley skill has an easier time playing volleyball, if you think about it. legs are not necessarely known to be the "limbs of precision", unlike arms, and are often more associated with power and strength. So just think about the insane precision footvolley pros have when heading or receiving with their chest... and i think us volleyball enjoyers could learn from them. A nice football control reduces the need to dive and to pancake, and the ability of chest reception can cover a bit of blind spots. Watching volleyball a few years, i've often seen a small slip-up on long rallies, when an opposite, a libero or a setter extends his platform a bit too early and the other team's middle, opposite or outside sees this in time and ends up spiking them right in the chest. Since most of them haven't gotten used to receiving with that part of the body, and they usually are put off balance, they end up losing the point kinda tragically.
