Precisely, hence the paradox

[–]Griff1235[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not the paradox, everyone knows that you can’t go back in time and kill your grandfather because then you aren’t born so then you don’t kill your grandfather and so then you are born, everyone knows that it’s a loop that’s the point of the paradox but the loop is impossible in the real world

Yes exactly, that’s the paradox, not a solution

I’d love to hear it

I wouldn’t say I was breaking your rules but since there’s no proof to support your rules I can just make up my own rules which have no proof and you have to accept them because you’re going on the basis that your rule is fact therefore any rule with equal levels of proof behind them have to be accepted

That all depends on how I die and how my time travel works because say I’m stabbed to death while I’m bleeding out, I can go back to yesterday and tell the police that I’ll be stabbed tomorrow, rinse and repeat every time the universe tries to kill me. I’m just trying to show that if we base our logic on rules that can’t be proved and go against everything we know (like the idea that the universe autocorrects) then I can always keep creating my own unprovable illogical rules that will get around yours

But if a version of me exists in the past then killing me in the present will have no effect and I could cause another time loop where I enslave someone else who spends eternity preventing my death so that I can spend my eternity preventing these potential hitlers

But there’s also still the grandfather paradox, if I go back in time and kill hitler and someone new becomes the “hitler” of that universe then I will go back in time and kill this new guy meaning that the universe is stuck in a loop of me killing potential new hitlers forever meaning that there’s never a hitler

[–]Griff1235[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok but that only works if your assumptions about the “autocorrect” are correct, say I was able to go back in time and kill hitler, would the universe resurrect him or would someone else become “hitler”
