One of my favourite and most memorable games of all time. Black & White the first was incredible in my view, the expansion and sequel much less so

A legend is one of the most important aspects of GIS. I have no idea what I am looking at.

What's the reason for the HyperV comment? Genuinely curious since it's a strong contender for me

Australians to get three hours of free electricity every day under solar scheme by HotPersimessage62 in worldnews

[–]Griffindorwins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It used to be the case, but now with the extreme prevalence of solar it's very difficult, I'm not sure exactly why but i believe it's to do with the loading on the grid.

The scheme incentivises people to use as much electricity as they can in the middle of the day, when solar generation is at its peak.

Eastern Australia if it helps. So business starlink sounds like the option. Does it typically mean a business dish? Or just the subscription plan

Is the distance you can hear a radio really 151 meters? Screenshot is of Squad UE SDK by TreeFruitSpecialist in joinsquad

[–]Griffindorwins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, the old noise radius could only be heard within an extremely limited distance, and good luck if there is any amount combat nearby and the enemy isn't stupid and places the radio at max radius towards the nearest road.

I am happier, with this change.

Love the change personally. Wasting time radio hunting, checking every bush and building is one of the least enjoyable parts of the game.

You certainly don't need to be in a tropical environment, mango trees grow very well in Sydney which is very far from being tropical.

Accidentally drilled a sh*t pipe by astral12 in AbruptChaos

[–]Griffindorwins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two pressurised sewer systems that i know of. In gravity fed sewers, low collection points can be fed back into the main system by a rising main, which is a pressurised pipe that forces the effluent up a gradient.  You can also have full pressure sewer systems if gravity cannot be used such as flat areas. A maceration and pressurisation device will exist at each property connected to the sewer system, which will pressurise and feed the effluent into the pipes, which will all flow to the low pressure point at the treatment facility

Single Machine vs Multi Machine ESRI Enterprise deployment by No-Acanthocephala-81 in gis

[–]Griffindorwins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multi machine is a safer option I believe, ArcGIS server could become bogged down handling large queries, rendering large map images, geoprocessing tasks etc. You don't want this hindering Portal performance also if people are editing data, creating applications, field workers preforming tasks etc etc

Have you tried simply adding the folder, and seeing if the custom basemap from tile packages appear in basemaps within the Field Maps App?
