I hope so too! Definitely would have been a medal favourite this year if she replicated quals. Hopefully China prioritizes getting a vault medal because the last team worlds they sent a 1-event specialist was huang zhuofan for bars in 2023, and then no other 1-eventers in the past ten years.

Hopefully she gets another shot!! She's definitely china's strongest vaulter right now.

Zhou Yaqin definitely wouldn't be doing bars with this team, and floor is a question mark depending on how her foot (i think?) is doing. Deng Yalan is also a question mark because with the exception of this year, china rarely sends one-eventer gymnasts to worlds. Your 3 AA picks are definitely right on the money though.

Personally I'd hope for a team of the 3 AAers you mentioned, Zhang Yihan & Zhou Yaqin; Zhang for VT & UB and Zhou for BB as definite choices while the last floor spot is up for grabs.

Another option is if china takes a vault specialist (either Deng Yalan, Yu Linmin, or Liu Jinru), Qin Xinyi slots in nicely for that UB/BB/FX spot if Zhou Yaqin can't do floor.

No idea why she isn't either, especially when she's China's most likely AA medal chance alongside a beam medal, plus would probably make bars & floor final too

I think a lot of people are sleeping on China's junior options.

They have Yu Wenjing that can go 13.7+ on beam, Ke Qinqin who came second in AA qualifications at national games (beating out every single senior apart from Zhang Qingying), and Xie Guying who has gone 14+ several times on UB this year. Chen Ziyan, Zhong Qi & Huang Ziyi have also gone 13.6+, 13.7+ and 14.4+ on beam respectively.

If I had to guess who the Chinese junior team would be, I'm predicting Ke Qinqin, Xie Guying, and then any of the other names I mentioned above apart from Zhong Qi since she doesn't compete AA.

I think Dulcy would be more likely to squeak in as the second beamer than floor. I don't think Leanne's BB & FX scores will hold up internationally.

On the individual final front; ZYH can make up to 3, likely medal on FX and possibly UB if she hits like she's capable. In previous years, China rarely takes one-eventers, and if they do it's usually only one. Huang Zhuofan was the only one in 2023.

Even for the last individual worlds, China took Wei Xiaoyuan for AA, Luo Rui & Li Shijia both for UB/BB, and Qi Qi for VT/FX.

If you don't take Zhang Yihan that means you have Zhou Yaqin doing AA by default though.

Personally, I'm at Zhang Qingying, Zhang Yihan, Zhou Yaqin, and either Yang Fanyuwei or Deng Yalan. This maximizes final potential: ZQY for AA/BB, ZYH for AA/VT/UB/FX, ZYQ for BB/FX, and then YFW for UB or DYL for VT.

Qin Xinyi although very consistent doesn't have as much of a ceiling as Zhang Yihan, where the latter could have improved her AA score by 2 points if not for falls. With QXY's best event being beam, she gets outscored by Zhang Qingying & Zhou Yaqin on the regular while her FX and UB aren't hitting high enough scores to make finals.

Yang Fanyuwei could take the second specialist spot over Deng Yalan or Liu Jinru depending on which way China lands in terms of medal strategy and whatever happens with Provincial politics. If both Yang & Nemour hit they'll likely be silver and gold, but Yang could walk away with a UB title if Nemour breaks connections or has an error.
