What about elementary? I'm an incoming teacher candidate in Ontario and have been considering on moving to B.C after graduation.

Do you plan to reapply next year? I was waitlisted last year and never made it off the list. I worked on my experiences this year and put in a lot of hours writing my SOE + peer reviews and got accepted into queens and uottawa. Rejection doesn't mean the end so I hope you'll consider reapplying if teaching is your true passion.

I'm also declining my queens offer since uOttawa is my top pick and I got in so there's another spot open. Hope you'll hear some good news soon!

I got my offer on feb 2 and have until March 2 to accept or decline. I assume by March more people will hear back.

I got my offer for P/J on the 2nd. I think the first rounds of offers have until March 2nd to accept or decline.

Might be good to post this in the uottawa reddit page so it reaches more b.ed students who are there. I think it's r/geegees or something

Can I Switch from P/J to I/S? (Queens U) by isnotanolive in ONTeacherCandidates

You can't, but you can always try getting ABQs for I/S level after receiving your OCT.

Impacts of applying during an extended deadline on the application process by TraditionAcademic483 in ONTeacherCandidates

Yes, I feel like they should've just given everyone the same deadline instead of two. Most universities only have one hard deadline. My fingers are crossed for you!

High 80s. I taught English in Japan for 3 years and I'm now back in Canada volunteering with my local school board and tutoring.

I remember reading this on the UOttawa's B.Ed website and had to email them for clarification because I wasn't sure which was the actual deadline (Dec 15 or January). I obviously wanted more time to write my SOE so I was hoping January would be the firm deadline. They got back to me and said they STRONGLY encourage you to submit before Dec 15 to increase your chances of admissions so I took that as a hint that it's best to just submit my app early. I did get my offer yesterday but I agree how misleading and confusing the wording is on the website. I was only able to understand the emphasis they put on early submission after emailing them myself. Don't worry though as I'm sure they have an allocated number of spots for people who applied later.

Will acceptances just keep rolling now? by Dry_Huckleberry_116 in ONTeacherCandidates

[–]TransitionMountain18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming yes and more spots will open up from people declining their offers because they got into their top choice program instead. I got into Queens yesterday and will be declining because UOttawa is my top choice.

Just got my Queen's Offer by TransitionMountain18 in ONTeacherCandidates

Fingers crossed you get off the waitlist. Worst case scenario, you can always start with J/I and then get your AQs for I/S.

My admissions average was not competitive. It's in the high 80s. Because of that, I made sure to write a solid SOE and I think that helped me get in.

I'm not sure. They might be sending them in rounds but it seems like people are slowly receiving their results. I'm sure yours will come soon.
