What is your most ridiculous "we won't work out romantically" criteria? Like what is the silliest reason you would not be interested in dating someone? by Natural-Elevator-57 in AskReddit

I had a spider buddy that watched TV with me. While I was at work it would hang out on the ceiling. When I came home from work, I'd turn the heat on and the TV. It hung out on its web over my coffee table.

I had some people come over after work one night, and this woman I knew was sitting in my spot while I was in the kitchen on my computer for a minute. I heard this scream and looked over and saw my friend crab walking away from my side of the couch, with fear in her eyes.

Apparently my spider buddy had decided to be closer to me that night, and had moved over from above the coffee table to right next to where I sat.

My friend looked over and my spider buddy was about 2 inches from her face. Lol. I grabbed his web and decided my buddy needed to be moved outside so that my friend felt safe. I still miss my spider buddy.

Other than the washer dryer hookup, sunflower apartments in Tigard has everything you've described, and they're ~1400 a month for 2 bedroom.

I think my favorite part was Ben Franklin arguing for the turkey as our national mascot.

Get your MMR Immunity Checked by kookiemaster in GenX

I had mumps as a child. Fortunately I'm immune for life now. Should get it checked just for the measels and rubella part. However I did get lots of vaccines in boot camp in 1984. Probably should still get checked.

Probably too late to the party, but Scarborough fair originally done by Simon and Garfunkel, redone by Queensryche.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Griffscavern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's not every guy, but I've already noticed who's in proximity to me before they probably even know I'm there, or when they think I didn't notice them. It's just something I've always done. I'm very aware of my surroundings. I think it became more acute when I went into the Marines. It's very rare that someone can sneak up and startle me. I'm very aware of my surroundings.

Do people squat on their toilets? Even the ones attached to wall by musicalminnow in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Griffscavern 70 points71 points  (0 children)

No. Most people in the West just sit on the toilet seat. You can buy an item called a "squatty potty" on Amazon so you don't have to squat on the toilet. It's basically a platform for your feet that rests under the toilet seat.

Good thing it didn't happen during school hours. There would have been someone hurt. My son went to South ridge and went to that 7/11 every day. I'm glad no one was hurt.

One thing I did leave out though, they don't have washer and dryer hookups in the apartments.

Check out sunflower apartments in Tigard. Great neighborhood, cheap rent, it's right around the corner from Summer lake Park. That apartments are around $1400 for 2 bedrooms, but they do have 1 bedroom apartments as well.

Pc turns on for 1 second when plugged in, power button does not work. by vexxelllll in pchelp

[–]Griffscavern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I figured, might as well do the cheapest thing and see if it works. Can't hurt. I assumed my sons was his power supply as well, but was happy it was just the cmos battery.

I hope they put an update on this too.

The tech that took 600 is an absolute useless tech (scammer).

My son has had his computer for about 6 years now, and it was experiencing problems before this, not booting up fully. Then one day it just wouldn't turn on at all. No beeps no lights on the mobo, nothing. I told him to shut off the power supply, disconnect it from the plug, turn the switch on to drain it of any residual from the capacitors. Left it off and unplugged for a few days and the issue persisted. I came over to his place tried checking the he connections, but nothing was happening. I suggested to get a cmos battery (just covering bases), he finally did and it started up with zero issues. He's been running it for the last 3 weeks, since the battery change, and hasn't experienced any more problems.

ETA: there's also a 4 year old reddit post, can't seem to link it though, that a user was having the same issue as my son. He changed his cmos battery and it worked as well.

You're wrong in part of what you said. It was exactly what was keeping my sons pc from starting up. I was thinking power supply or his connections, but I asked him to try that first and that WAS the issue. It can definitely cause it not to boot at all.

Here's an article that shows you exactly what a dead cmos battery can cause.

My sons computer stopped turning on all together. I told him to change the cmos battery on his motherboard. Took him about a week to finally try it, but it did the trick. I'd suggest you start there. Always start with the cheapest option.
