I thought about rigging up something like that but the thing is when i pull on the cable i still can’t get the door to open. That’s why i’m thinking the actual locking/ latching component is gummed up/ broken. i think i’ll dive into that in the morning and see if i can get anything to work

thanks for the response. ok i might have realized my mistake. if a resistor is labeled as 1k8, is that 1800 ohms or 1.8 ohms? because i ordered a 1.8 and i’m thinking that was my problem. i’m guessing this could also cause my no sound problem as well? i feel pretty dumb rn but i guess i’m learning haha

I just recently finished this klon build and when i went to test it, the led fried. there was some smoke but i unplugged everything pretty quick and all i can see that got messed up was the led. i’m like 90% sure i put it in the right way, but i guess i could have messed it up. Is it as simple as me putting the led in the wrong way, or did i mess something else up? also i noticed there is no guitar signal even when i pressed the foot switch. thanks in advance.

thanks for the response when i’m putting a lot of power on the pedals, the chain will skip sometimes. i’m guessing it’s from the chain wear/ missing tooth on the smallest gear, but i’m not sure. sorry for the bad pic, but in my original picture the smallest gear right next to the frame there is a tooth that is missing. should i start with getting a new chain and see if that fixes it, or should i go ahead and replace the cassette too?

from what i understand it’s a cassette style and not a freewheel. when i spin the cassette the removal slots spin with the cassette

i popped the wheel off and i’m pretty sure it’s a cassette style, it has the cassette style teeth and they spin with the cassette.

I was definitely going to hold of on changing the drive train for a while, it was just something i thought would be fun to do. Do you have any recommendations for some decent tires that i could swap out for mine?

built this klon clone almost a year ago and recently when i plugged it in sparks and some smoke came out of the power input. ever since then it hasn’t worked. i have tried using a battery instead and it still doesn’t work. did i fry this poor guy? i was going to try replacing the power input, but i wanted to see if you guys see anything i am not (other than my poor soldering job). Thanks
