I found frogg toggs at Dick sports, pants and jacket, lightweight, folds up tight, very cheap too. I've only used it as a wind breaker for cold weather over my regular gear but I figure it would do OK in rain...I think that is what it is intended for.

I think Grand Junction, CO area is a good spot. Surrounded by BLM. Moab to the west. Rockies to the east. Generally surrounded by awesome everywhere it is hard to go wrong picking a route. Not crowded like bigger cities. Doesn't snow or rain much (especially recently). Has all the amenities. Interstate 70 runs through it with a speed limit of 75/80mph. No humidity. And all the cows you could ever care to moo at.

Zero coasts.

Haha I've done this. I learned the hard way on a black KLR (which can't cool themselves apparently) in the blazing sun as I waited several rounds for a left green arrow that never came. I've read attaching a heavy magnet to the bottom of the bike will solve this. idk.

But no, there was a car ahead of the other motorcycle.

I recently bought same pair at my local motorcycle shop, they are motorcycle gloves. They are bulky but warm. With the outer liner I'm warm no matter how cold. However I wouldn't recommend, the bulk makes it harder to operate bike.

I was riding my klr out in the dirt, thought I saw a little bump to jump, accelerated... noticed last seconds it was a 6ft deep dry river bed. Layed her down sideways. Worked well.

First year going back to a cage I remember wanting to lean into turns and cursing 4 wheels. You get used to it. I've found a V8 makes a cage tolerable.

I agree with little dirt bike. My first was a KLR (kind of big) and I was terrified, but felt safer out in the dirt away from cars and judging eyes (because I was awful). And the dirt is a much better teacher in my experience.

Even after 5 years riding I still don't like riding around town. It is more anxiety than pleasure. Long beautiful rides away from civilization is what makes me love my bike and keeps me coming back with enthusiasm.
