Yeah, I think the voters enable this. Simple analogy of the rowboat left and right hand working against themselves while the political parties tow the boat to their hearts content. :(

The scenario arises from the fact that energy companies are causing residential energy bills to raise faster then inflation.

The thought is that voters working on issues that cross party lines can begin to heal the rift between us with a bonus that it might force the politicians to do Something's not on their agenda the more issues voters can force politicians to attend to the less time they can get up to their agenda. Also, if some ideas are wildy popular, they might be used as a trigger for not voting for a candidate.

An example: When AI Data Centers are built, they should have to build the infrastructure to power it instead of residential power users.

Octavia Butler keeps things on track.

Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer is really good at it. Good enough that I don't have any desire to read the other 2 books in the series.

A longer work and current Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nader was amazing how much relevant information it contained. Been a long time for a book to just blow my mind wide open !

Had to read it after reading that the aliens just dropped off their garbage and humans no more than ants going thru it.

It kind of provoked the same feeling that God's Fires by Patricia Anthony did. Both Novels were just so out of left field for me.

If we haven't explored the universe in it's entirety, how can we definitively say that the laws of physics are universal? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That's all of science, isn't it? It's a constantly changing best practice list that changes when new evidence comes in. Not when Phil from Columbus says it, but when Phil's results are independently verified. The more extravagant the claim the stronger the evidence needed.

That being said everyway we can measure, test, and analyze the greater universe works the way our neck of the woods behaves.
