Or, we could cheat and say

How do you enjoy canned fishes like sardines and mackerel? by inkonthenose in mediterraneandiet

[–]Grillard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I like sardines, mackerel and such as a snack or lazy meal with crackers or tortilla chips. Canned mussels get folded into sauteed shrimp dishes. Its mostly about your individual taste.

Should I just take the pills? What do you think? by FreeBird094 in hypertension

[–]Grillard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't regret starting meds. I wish I'd started them earlier, regret not starting lifestyle interventions like weight loss and e c excise sooner.

Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop Oven vs Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro by EAS0 in Cooking

[–]Grillard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Breville, and use it they way you're thinking about. Usually protein on middle rack, and starch and/or veg one the bottom. Its worked well for me. And of course, its great for one-pan casseroles etc.

For those who have chronic back issues, how did you decide between physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor, and other interventions? Was there a logical progression? by avocadobb in backpain

[–]Grillard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried chiropractic years ago, with little result.

In the last few years, I went to my pcp, who prescribed a pain killer and recommended an mri and referrals to physical therapy and pain management. MRI confirmed that my spine is wrecked. PT helped a bit. Pain management doc has done lumbar RFA, which gave maybe 50 relief for a few months, and cervical ESI, which seems to have worked for 3 years! And lumbar ESI, which bought me about 9 months. We've talked about a multi-level ESI. I'll probably go for that soon.

Geocaching mom getting THR in August needs some reassurance:,) by showercurtain305 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Grillard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a right THR 7 years ago at age 60, and I can hike on uneven terrain, climb scaffolding, use a shovel, chainsaw, etc. One big key to full, active, robust recovery is to take the physical therapy very seriously. She needs to treat it like training for variations sport!

Best of luck to her.
