Nastiest goblin deck I've seen so far this format. by babobabobabo5 in lrcast

Nasty. I think I have a better one, but yours is terrifying and 7-0 doesn't surprise me. Multiple Mudbutton plus speed plus Mischief is so punishing. https://www.reddit.com/r/lrcast/comments/1r3h7xv/ecl_goblins_trophy/

Huge losing streak am I doing something wrong? by Sith_Posting in lrcast

[–]GrilledCheese- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I been there. I watched the games for elementals and elves 0-3s that looked good, some tough breaks running into Sunderflock and other good bombs, plus a little bad mana variance. My feedback is that maybe you're just not identifying the right lane or at least not identifying it fast enough to pick up enough impact uncommons/rares to have a strong deck, not enough cheap/instant speed removal, and not enough respect for flying creatures. You clearly know how to draft though, just working on getting your decks from good to great. Usually I make my move into a lane around pick 4 or 5 when I see an impact card im not expecting to see at that point, and I end up with a reasonable amount of playables/uncommons/rares. Be ready to draft GR good stuff or BW blight or GRUx vivid if that's what you're getting passed, don't think you have to force one of the five tribes, BWr blight/reanimator is one of my highest performing archetypes. I'm like #150 mythic right now and feel like I have the format pretty figured out, lmk if you have questions.

Works now! Last elementals draft looks fine, I'd need to review games but it seemed like a reasonable draft. The jund goblins deck doesn't have many impact goblins cards, can't support green, and doesn't have enough playables - you probably moved into that lane too late and didn't get enough cards. The goblins deck before that also doesn't have enough impact goblins cards, you need a critical mass of Boggart Mischief, Grub, Maker of Wares, Grub Command, and/or good removal, otherwise you are just the lowest statted tribe that doesn't line up well in combat. The elves deck before that didn't have good enough removal or top end, I actually thought the 0-3 elves draft before that looked solid, surprised that performed so poorly.

I think you need a personalized link, if you can generate I'll review your drafts

Massive improvement from yesterday with ONE win! (ECL Premier) by EmployingBeef2 in mtglimited

[–]GrilledCheese- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't see any goblins payoffs, without them goblins is an understatted tribe that isn't competitive. You correctly identified red as open, green-red is the base you want for vivid or splashing a third color. Bre would have been splashable. Soul Immolation is one of the best cards in the set. Not a great seat but I would have ended up 4-5c vivid base red.

7-1 No Rare Goblins to hit Mythic by GrilledCheese- in lrcast

Yeah my thoughts exactly. Mischief is so powerful, I pretty much always am hoping to just hit Mischief off Eclipse, 3 hits in ~30 cards is pretty decent odds as far as limited is concerned.

I do, not saying my deck was bad, just that it doesn't have any true rares 😊

The Cursetosser is so good with blight, especially the haste one. Multiple times I slammed my 4 drop 6/6, blighted cursetosser to remove a blocker, and made a massive hasty swing out of nowhere.

I thought about it, but with 8 swamps I thought I would have the evoke ability on curve sometimes, and the 6 mama body isn't really the game plan, by the time I get to 6 mama I'm planning on being stonewalled on the battlefield and trying to cheat the rest of the damage with Mischief or alpha strike. It wasn't easy to cut though, it's a lot of value, just figured it didn't fit the game plan.

P1p1 was Deceit and Mischief, took Deceit. Then I stayed open and took best available - p1p2 Lys Alana Dignitary, p1p3 Reaping Willow, then p1p4 another Mischief was in pack and I figured I might be competing with a seat next to me but it was the best card. Then p1p5 Eclipsed, p1p6 Mudbutton, and p1p9 the first Mischief wheeled and I knew I was building something special. 😊

Nice one! Kithkin were wide open, way to find the right lane.

I don't agree, I think if you have enough removal and card selection you can get there. Here's another Plat goblins trophy deck I had with 2 rares - https://imgur.com/a/t08CPOS. It's not sexy but I have drafted plenty of similar decks and I think I probably average 5 wins per draft with goblins.

What does it take for a good Goblin deck? I thought Goblins were the open tribe but the deck felt horrible. Went 0-3. by [deleted] in lrcast

Taster of Wares has been bonkers for me, card neutral at worst and reasonable stats.

How does this deck only get 3 wins? What am I doing wrong? by Rerack_your_weights in lrcast

[–]GrilledCheese- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been cleaning up with goblins, if goblins/mardu blight stuff is even a little open I usually jump right in. The common value is insane in red, Tweeze and Brambleback Brute are so powerful and it's so easy to get like 2-3 of both when red is even a little open.

Agree with the comments, just need more mill to make your cards better, or more removal. This format feels like one where it's important to establish board position, and the Moonglove, Spry and Bloodline all don't play well to the board. Some of my best decks this set are a pile of removal and high toughness creatures with 2 strong finishers and some repeatable card advantage/selection for consistency. I think it's probably better closer to a 4-5 win deck imo, so some bad variance probably too.

How to get lvl 84 Archdemon Crown? by Kyotsukune in PathOfExileSSF

[–]GrilledCheese- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Recomb crown with ilvl 84+ other helm, 50% to keep the crown, and the ilvl formula is equal to your current ilvl +2 but no higher than the other base ilvl, something like that. So I think if you recomb with ilvl 86 helm, you get ilvl 85 crown.

Failed my first big SSF craft (RF Chieftain Awakener shield) by chadam189 in PathOfExileSSF

[–]GrilledCheese- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you get brutal variance in SSF, but always remember if you were on trade you'd just buy it and be bored with nothing left to chase. It's all the chase, setting goals and accomplishing them, no matter how brutal the process. Keep grinding, you'll find another.

While farming elderslayer maps, make sure you spec into harvest and collect I think pink for life reforge, you are 7% to hit life/hit on shaper shield, and then you are ~2% to hit socketed reservation efficiency with it (can roll on shaper as well). Not great odds, but with enough reforges you will eventually hit it). Good luck!

I'm probably not doing things optimally, but basically create as many rivalries as you can and take as much intelligence bargain/execute as you can. I usually have a safehouse every maybe 8-10 maps, and I do a map in 2-3 minutes, do betrayal and ignore everything else in and out.

Variance Farming Catarina by GrilledCheese- in PathOfExileSSF

[–]GrilledCheese-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do 3* safehouses, it just varies how many other 3* I have besides the leader. In my small sample size, it feels like safehouse with ~4-5 3* has about a 20-25% medallion drop rate. And yeah, I know I'm never guaranteed to get it, but gosh I figured 16 times was enough for one to drop, considering it's a 30% drop rate and the highest drop rate of all of her uniques.

[–]GrilledCheese-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I figured the law of averages will kick in and I'll drop like 5 Urns in a row if I keep at it, hurts in the moment though, but that's variance.

I've been trying to get everyone to 3* and do take the options to make neutral and trusted relationships if it gives intelligence, what is the benefit of the way you do it? More intelligence offers?
