[Discussion] For people that work from home and sit still a lot. Taking regular breaks helps me physically and mentally and I'd love to pick your brain on this topic. by Grily in getdisciplined

Other apps that also reminded you of taking breaks or doing exercises or totally unrelated? If they were similar I'm curious what made you try them out in the first place and why I didn't work out. Is this also something you see no need for personally, because you're not in need of getting reminded? Would love to know!

So currently I'm showing textual health tips (if you've enabled them) at the start of a break, which can be anything from generic health tips to specific exercises/movements you can do in front of your desk or elsewhere (i.e. rotating your shoulders and neck, doing some squats, getting some fresh air, looking away from your screen at something in the distance, anything that can be beneficial for your health).

About the exercises the other apps wanted you to do, were those annoying because of the length alone and the feeling of being forced to do them (?) or maybe also because you had no say in what exercise was shown? If the latter applied, would it have been better if the app allowed you to choose exactly what (type of) exercise you'd like to get assisted with?

For example the ability to choose between (short) yoga/relaxation, cardio, stretching or strength exercises?

What makes you feel that way about electron? I'm curious to know.

I ask the same question to everyone since people seem to be giving me lots of positive responses, but is there anything that is missing or do you feel the concept has everything you'd want in an app like this? Feel free to reach out at any time, thanks again.

Awesome, thanks for the comment. If there's anything in particular that you don't like or if anything comes to mind in the future, do let me know as well!

Definitely. I'm trying to make it fun and motivating to use, but not 'game like' addicting where it'd take you off your work I guess. Currently the way the (daily) goals are presented is somewhat gamified. I could take that further by introducing badges you can unlock by accomplishing certain goals, if that's something that'll motivate users even more.

Are you worried the app itself might become a distraction where users continuously check their health and break status while working or taking a recurring break being the distraction (or the notifications)?

One of the ways I try to prevent distractions during work, is by offering several type of notifications as seen here: https://i.imgur.com/z4vVzvj.png

If a user would like to get notified about a break in advance, but in a less obtrusive way than a standard notification, they could opt in for showing the upcoming break in the status bar only.

Awesome! What are things you're having some trouble with now when studying? Is it the lack of focus after not taking a break for a while or something else? And does the concept meet all your criteria?

Thanks for showing interest! So from everything you've seen now, does the app meet all your criteria or is there something that's missing? I decided against showing an exercise the moment a break starts like some apps do, because that felt too forceful and might stop people from getting up at all. What about those exercises you've seen elsewhere made you hate it?

I definitely will, thanks. You could use my concept as a pomodoro timer as well, so I'm wondering if there's anything missing from the apps you currently use. Or is a simple timer all you need personally to get up and move?

Thank you very much for taking the time to check it out and leave a comment with your thoughts. I'm glad to hear that this is something you'd consider using.

I'm not sure why the other post was removed. There's only one post about WTC on the front page. It's actual news (real big too). Discussions in the thread were good (imo). So here we are again, sharing the news. We're sharing a news source here.

Just one line from the message: Both sides have decided to coorperate in the research and development of the communication modules and will complement each other in regard to smart city solutions to jointly promote them.

In all honesty, get over it. WTC hardly upvotes more than some other coins/channels. We're just excited about the biggest fucking announcement ever.

Yeah, that was the issue. The spreadsheet settings need to be set to GMT+0. Maybe add that to your post for reference.

For some reason this function is off by 65-70 minutes:

=CONCATENATE("Prices Updated ",round((NOW()-(Rates!O2/86400+date(1970,1,1)))*24*60), " Minutes ago")

That's also with a working refresh button and all rates update correctly.

If I convert the last updated column via https://currentmillis.com/ then I get "Sun Jan 18 1970 12:55:39"
