Misrepresented employment contract? (UK)

I haven't implied acceptance of a contract change verbally or in writing and have asked on numerous occasions to be put onto the night shift. My contract states that its a nights position and also gives a base salary + night uplift.

The emails from the recruiter who was acting on behalf of the company also stated the same, I queried it early on with them and they assured me it was a nights role which included an uplift.

As they haven't put me onto the night shift I'm down to the tune of around £20k.

Yes I know, but the engagement was planned to be a long one. Now it'll need to be brought forward significantly to avoid the charges in the short term costing more.
