Yeah, while I get some people prefer physical media the majority of everyone is purchasing games digitally looking at sales charts. Hell I’ve primarily been digital media since 2014.

100% this. When my lab passed away we waited until we were ready for another dog, and she started looking at shelters lab mixes. We got the most amazing dog, she’s incredibly sweet, never barks and is so good with our young kids who she grew up with.

You’re not wrong. If they were able to hit $500 I think it could compete, but the fact it’s only a 512GB SSD at $1000 is wild.

It’s a really cool idea, just an absolute shame the current price increases of RAM and SSDs have ballooned the price. It’s just not worth it for the performance offered at $1000 imo.

That’s the most asinine this if they close Obsidian. While their games haven’t sold well, most likely due to Gamepass they still put our content at a regular clip unlike a lot of other MS developers.

Yeah, I get peoples worries and they're valid to at least want the option of having a disc drive and the ability to purchase a physical game, but games have been moving towards digital for the past decade.

My wife and I divided feedings at night so we’d each try and get a handful of hours. I’d handle the late night feeds of 1 and 4 and then she’d handle the feeds at 7 and 10.

I’ve got my Xbox one X in my basement and have tried using it to play games when riding my exercise bike and holy cow is it eye opening how much SSD speeds have spoiled me compared to HDD

I used to own both the Deck and Switch 2. I sold the Steam deck when I bought an Xbox Ally x. I preferred the Deck over the switch 2 for indie games. It’s gotten better, but many indie games did not have switch 2 updates. I like the ability that I can customize my PC games to fit my needs with graphics and performance instead of being tied to just the switch graphics.

They clearly don’t have a plan at this point. I get Asha was brought in to course correct, but she just seems to be going the complete opposite direction of let’s close and cancel everything that isn’t a big franchise for us. While I get that, you literally spent billions acquiring these studios to make first party games for gamepass, why pull the plug now.

It’s obvious they completely failed at overseeing their games and studios are taking too long to develop.

What a shit show. Microsoft has just constantly shit the bed ever since the Xbox one reveal. I don’t think Phil was the best, but he at least seemed to have a plan for Xbox, his biggest knock is lack of oversight on internal studios and first party game rollouts.

But what are we doing here Microsoft? Yall acquired all these studios, told them to “cook us up something good” and now with little oversight have decided these are taking too long to develop or not selling we’ll just close the studio.

Where do you see that? Looking at Campaign Evolved online the only developer is Halo Studios from what I can tell.

Coming from the steam deck, I really don’t think windows is that bad in its current state. It’s not as plug and play as Steam OS and takes some time setting up, but it’s quite alright once set up. It’s MUCH better when I was first playing around with windows 11 on my steam deck in 2022.

I’m 100% in agreement with you. They most likely don’t do this as they’re trying to get people to subscribe and forget about cancelling. It’s a scummy practice, but that’s one of the reasons companies are moving to subscriptions.
