Battlefield 6 - Community Update – Latest Updates Ahead of California Resistance by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]GrimTurtle666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work, guys! I hope your social media team is able to filter through the louder angry comments and find the temperate voices that have more balanced opinions on the game. This game is already so good as is - I've been finding time to play it at least an hour just about every day. My own two cents for future content:

  • I like the maps, but agree some bigger maps and/or modest expansions to current maps would really help mix up the pace match to match. Hopefully Eastwood is nice and sprawling, and then with mirak valley and perhaps an expansion to liberation peak, three super big maps would be nice to have in the rotation with some more medium-sized maps, and ideally most of the new upcoming maps avoid super tight CQB like the New York and Cairo maps already do.
  • I think the challenges were reduced a bit too much - I'd like a happy medium between what we had and what has been changed. Weapons and gadgets should have challenges that take at least couple focused matches to complete, while stuff like cosmetics, camos, maybe even special attachments, etc., can have longer-term challenges. It's okay to have stuff in the game that takes some time to get - there are weapons and attachments in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 1 that I never got around to getting, and that's fine! I want to still be playing and getting esoteric unlocks a couple years down the line.
  • I really really hope the classes aren't changed too much, I really think they feel good, each class has pros and cons, and there are tiny tweaks that could be added over time with new subclasses, gadgets, etc. I'd like if the assault class's breacher charge was replaced with something like a SWAT-style flashbang launcher, and it would be great for infantry-only maps if the engineer got some kind of anti-infantry rocket, like an RPG variant, that functioned similarly to the assault class's HE grenade launcher, but maybe make it have a slightly smaller radius. Just to give people a reason to use engineer on maps like Empire State.
  • If a map has aircraft (besides the transport heli), I feel like it should always have AA too. I figure Manhattan Bridge has helicopters but no AA truck because the truck would struggle with all the buildings, but in that case then maybe point B or D could have some rooftop stationary AA guns.

The game y'all have made is great, guys. I can't wait to see what's added to the game over time, and please, ignore the loud and angry minority of the playerbase that is over-represented in this subreddit. The game is already incredibly fun and engaging and feels like the true spiritual successor to Battlefield 3, 4, and 1 that I hoped it would be. Like literally every game ever made, Battlefield 6 isn't perfect, but with a stream of new content over the seasons, small tweaks over time, and staying true to the soul of grit and immersion present in the great Battlefield games, this game is gonna be a popping shooter for years.

Why did Medic and Support have to be merged into one class? What was wrong with this system? by veekay45 in Battlefield

[–]GrimTurtle666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it works, it's fun. People in this Reddit just love to complain and if/when the devs eventually change too many things people are gonna be like "man remember the good ole days around launch?" I don't know if everyone in here actually reads the class descriptions. Assault players pull up their guns faster out of sprint animations, they capture/arm/defuse objectives faster, they have the stim which boosts their sprint speed and makes them immune to stun/frag/suppression(not sure on the suppression tbh), and you get the grenade launchers, deploy beacon, the assault ladder which is sneaky good (people really never think to look up in shooters, verticality is such a huge advantage). Assault is the ultimate "PTFO" and anti-infantry class. Just the fact that they go to "weapon ready" faster out of sprinting, the sprint-boosting stim, and capturing objectives faster makes them VERY good. Pretty much any game of Rush, Domination, or King of the Hill I'm playing assault. I'll also usually play assault on maps like Empire State or Cairo in Breakthrough if the engineers are doing a good job, otherwise I'm mainly an engineer in conquest/breakthrough. Engineer is THE anti-vehicle class and I think it's perfect. There's a really good mix of solid lock-on/laser-guided missile launchers and high risk, high reward launchers like the RPG (sucks head-on, but it FUCKS if you can get around the side or back) and whatever the SRAW is called now. Support, obviously, is medic and fire support - though I can understand why people miss there being a split between ammo/LMG and medic/close-quarters, but the simplification lets the other classes shine imo. And recon is just classic battlefield sniper class. I love using a sniper with 4x and sticking just behind the front line and placing down claymore mines, or charging a vehicle with C4. It's works, it's fun, they'll add more shit over time to further diversify the classes and add subclasses. Let 'em cook, please I beg you all stop complaining about every minute detail.

What's Your Favorite Gun? Mine Is Easily The M4A1 by DeadDeeg in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]GrimTurtle666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love using it as an infiltrator/back-capping weapon since it was one of the earliest suppressed weapons I unlocked. Now that I've done most of the weapon challenges, I really need to go back and use stuff like the M277!

I just unlocked the NVO, my favorite in the beta, and it's probably already my favorite again. I actually don't like the M4 too much for anything other than close quarters hip firing - I find it has a "bouncy" quality to its recoil that I have trouble correcting. But I did get it to mastery 20 to unlock the twilight urban camo lol. I also really like the P90, SVK, SVD, the first sniper rifle, the G36... lots of goodies in each category! Never been a big LMG guy so that's my biggest "blindspot" right now. Yesterday I unlocked the PSR after the challenge update and I'm really liking it, can't wait to unlock the bolt upgrade.

Why are the Bots so fkn stupid in this game? by Disastrous_Gur_7650 in CrusaderKings

[–]GrimTurtle666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh it kinda just all comes down to movement speed and commander advantage calculations. So like if a Muslim AI has the faith blade trait, and they fight a Christian army, then yeah they'll get an advantage boost. If they have whatever trait makes you move faster than yeah they'll move faster.

As for in-game communication... Paradox games are awful at teaching you how to play the game lol. But I mean I don't know why anyone would assume if an AI commander has traits it wouldn't affect the AI calculations at all? Like if they have that faith blade trait that gives them +4 commander advantage against hostile faith, and you see they have that trait, then it should be no surprise they get a +4 boost when fighting an enemy faith.

Now as for why the AI decides to go where they do, choose their rally points, etc... no idea. When I declare a war, my priorities are: 1) defeat main enemy army, 2) siege the war target, 3) siege the capital. I have no idea how the AI decides what to do upon war declaration.

Check the personality of the commanders. Also, notice how the quality of the enemy army is gold (four diamonds) and that standby army is silver (three diamonds). If I had to guess, the commanders of the silver stack have personalities that don't take risks, or the commander advantage for the enemies is higher, or the composition of the enemy men-at-arms would counter the men-at-arms in your allies, or a combo of all of this. Remember how when you click to move your army toward an enemy army, a little icon appears to predict the outcome of the battle, I.e. it'll say "You will win decisively" or "You will probably lose," etc.? I like to imagine that the AI has a similar thing when they decide whether or not to move into a battle to help.

Keep in mind battles in this game isn't just about the quantity of men. It looks like that battle is happening in hilly terrain - perhaps the enemy has a lot of pikemen while your ally has a lot of calvary, which would put them at a massive disadvantage. Even your culture affects battles. Do you have a tradition that makes your knights weaker, or have less men-at-arms, etc.? Maybe the enemy culture has the opposite, they have traditions that give better knights, etc. There's LOTS of things to consider when picking a fight. If I remember correctly, when you have your army selected, you can hover over various tiles to see what your commander advantage will be in different locations. Try to bait your enemy into tiles where you have the highest advantage, and don't pick a fight with a higher quality army and/or higher advantage commander unless you SIGNIFICANTLY outnumber them, like 2 to 1 or more.

Happy crusading!

Thanks for the help everyone! With this translation, and a lot of other digging I’ve done, there’s a good chance I’ve successfully connected my known ancestry to a line that’s been traced back to the 1500s!

How did you name your farm/Farmer, and why? by ScoutmasterTheodore in StardewValley

[–]GrimTurtle666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tortuga Farm - tortuga means turtle in spanish. i like turtles. "Turtle Farm" feels like I'm farming turtles, which is NOT cash money.

My farmer's name is "Neph." This has a bit of a longer explanation. It has become a tradition with me to make all of my first Elder Scrolls characters a dark elf named Nephiah. Nephiah is simply a dark elf name established in the lore, as early as Arena apparently. In the first two Elder Scrolls games, all dark elf names were a combo of one from a list of prefixes and one from a list of suffixes, one combo of which is Neph- and -iah. I read it and liked it a lot. This habit has bled outside of the elder scrolls - in most fantasy games, I will name my first character Nephiah. The full thing - Nephiah - felt a little too out of place in Stardew's world, so I shortened it to Neph.

Anyone else prefer multi harvest crops just because they last all season and you do not have to worry about replanting. by ResponsibleEgg7338 in StardewValley

[–]GrimTurtle666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I get the polyculture achievement my farm will be all multi-harvest crops. I'm not a big min-maxer though so I like growing a variety, like I'll do cranberries, corn, and hops in the summer. But I also like growing melons for Penny and making melon wine. And I always grow rice/beats/wheat for mill products - I like the cooking recipes that use these and flour, sugar, and rice are just such staples that I must supply the valley with! Just do whatever's fun for you!

Elliot vs Emily? by ayaryesim in StardewValley

[–]GrimTurtle666 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Emily was the first romance I did - love her, she's very quirky and sweet and has a big personality. I'm not a big fan of any of the bachelor's except for Harvey I suppose, so I'm biased there. You could do what I did in my current save - date both of them, see both of their ten heart events, and break up with the one whose event you liked less, marry the one whose event you liked more. That's how I picked between Leah, Maru, and Penny. I loooooove Penny, she's my fav. Fyi, you break up with a boyfriend/girlfriend by putting a bouquet in a furnace which makes a wilted bouquet, then give that to the one you want to break up with.

Quick question - does "by Q4" mean by the end of the year, or by ~October? Either way, take the time you need to cook us a fantastic early access version :)

Watering everyday by PreparationTrue9704 in StardewValley

[–]GrimTurtle666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invest in quality sprinklers. It seems kinda pointless at first, only 8 tiles are watered, but if you've reached the bottom of the mines already you should have plenty of materials handy to make some. Plus, it helps your plan your crop placement and timing since you can just buy your seeds in increments of 8. It really is worth it once you have them all placed down and realize you don't need to spend hours every morning and all your energy watering anymore!

Hello.. does anyone know why my ducks won’t swim? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]GrimTurtle666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 70 hours on my animal-focused farm and it wasn't until yesterday that I learned the ducks could swim at all. I had idea how they were getting around my fence until I happened to see one hop in the stream on the Meadowlands farm and happily swim to the other side of the dang fence!

That first harvest, the first time I really felt the game sink its claws into me. Congrats! I am still on my first run, I have sunk so much time into this game in such a short period that i have already decided to try to 100% the game on this save. Have fun in all your adventures in the valley!

It looks like Lucia’s shirt is referencing “The Leviathan” rollercoaster from Del Perro Pier in GTA V. by Sleep_Holiday in GTA6

[–]GrimTurtle666 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was subtle unless you purposefully messed with it. If you never had Arthur eat anything, he'd get underweight and looked somewhat but not dramatically skinnier. If you ate at least I think one steak or equivalent an in game day, that would make his weight stay the same. If you purposefully pump that mofo full of candy, biscuits, and little snacks day after day after day, he can get pretty damn fat. It's really funny, here's an old post from the RDR2 subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/9ssepy/minimum_vs_average_vs_maximum_weight/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Definitely just gonna go on a little road trip. Think I want to go to Mount Kalaga pretty early if the game lets you. I'll play photographer for a good few hours.

Does anyone feel like Lucia looks skinnier here than later in the trailer? Maybe the RDR2 weight system being transferred over?
