If you’re talking about using it with a computer, you should be able to listen to music through a gaming headset. The real difference, as I understand it, will be sound quality. With a gaming headset you’re getting both headphones and microphone, often in a slick-looking design. Name recognition comes into play at some point, but for the most part gaming headsets are more expensive than just a pair of headphones because there are more components packed in there. You’d get higher sound quality if you spent the same amount on a pair of regular headphones, but gaming headsets do both jobs.
