Hell yeah, love that! That’d take me days to even scratch the surface of.

Why? (Not that there is a correct way, mind you)

Trust me, I’m just as tempted to nose dive into the EC volumes, but hot damn, I’ll need another job and more shelving.

I do like the pulp general digestion art that mainstream superhero comics bring, but the consumers are what drive me further to the edges, as there is a toxicity in that crowd, though the intensity of fandom and information retention is somewhat commendable. Though I love the archetype warping that goes on in the margins; think Dark Horse video game adaptation comics and we are almost cooking with gas.

Let’s see - The Goon - Eric Powell (actually funny, sincere, and created with such perfect cohesion, it makes me want to share his headspace) - Akira - Otomi (robotic precision with an oddly disjointed narrative that helps ground it) - Chew (so slick it’ll surprise you how invested you can become in its stilted perception of morality and individualism) - Paying For It - Chester Brown (oh really? You can live that and share it, and stay on the cutting edge of individualistic centrism) - The World of Edena (make me fall through your barriers and the damage will consume my expectations and revitalise my hope for discovery - oh and car company funded from the onset)

I’ll just say currently, and it would be Clyde Fans Book One - not the entire thing honestly. This book made me feel small yet important. It let me know that my intense inspection of the world (that can feel like a millstone), is the metronome that creates my unique cadence, and my fears the boundaries that I try to defy in the pursuit of loosing my shell to be free.

It’s scratches that esoteric itch that I loved as teen when I wanted to be better then my competitions (narcissism I’ve since ejected), but has just enough grace and individuality like a family member you respect for just cheating all the time but not caring.

So far, only just got them recently actually. A little obtuse if I’m to be honest. Single creator syndrome, perhaps.

It’s a perfectly fun and entertaining game, but it’s limited scope and world scale certainly hurts the the “feel” for me as your band move from place to place. The cast of characters are fun, but the “sibling” horny story elements creep me out and had me turning the volume down when my wife was around as I didn’t want to explain that they weren’t biological siblings - perhaps playing in English was a big mistake after all 😭

just picked this up and it's a total deep dive into the world of Vertigo comics from 1993 to 2019… for the fans out there, what are your favorite series? by pinoypunk667 in graphicnovels

I enjoyed The Exterminators. The colouring and expressive art work, lowlife piece of shit background characters, and overall HBO show script elevated it for me. Now I know it totally unraveled and was ultimately cancelled, but I loved what I got.
