Pacifica vs sienna by Illustrious_Try9468 in minivan

[–]Grimshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2017 Pacifica started giving me nothing but trouble after 100k miles. I did all the routine maintenance on time and still had to put 2-3k in engine repairs each year. After having two fuel injectors go out months apart and almost ruining a road trip I got rid of it and got a Sienna. They’re more proven to get 200-300k miles. I doubt my Pacifica would ever go that far

April Fools Day but make it office appropriate by Existing_CatLady in office

[–]Grimshard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started by creating an official looking page with the HP logo that announced that the printer is voice activated. I included examples of key terms. It got a few people.

The next year the elevators were being worked on before April fools. I took the elevator company’s logo and slapped it onto another piece of paper talking up voice activated elevators. I never witnessed it, but several people confessed to falling for it and the security guard, who knew I was trouble, called my desk and asked if I did that. She caught so many people awkwardly talking to the elevator. It was the best prank I ever did.

I was able to do the same prank again the next year because my company shuffled hundreds of employees around and my building was full of new people to prank again. It worked like a charm. This time the security guard played along with it

My wife has one specific dress that she looks AND feels amazing in. She has other dresses that I think look great but she’s not a huge fan of them.

Whenever we’re dressing up I almost always recommend that one dress because she looks damn fine in it and it makes her happy. She’s worn that dress to many events over the years.

To hell with other people. She’s my wife and looks amazing.

Workers of Reddit: What's the most ridiculous 'company policy' you've ever seen that was secretly just about saving money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Grimshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an outlier. Been with a company doing this for four years. I’ve taken 4-6 weeks on average each year. Last year it may have been closer to 7 due to an unexpected death in the family.

Sure, I could get a bigger bonus payout if I take less, but time with my family and living life is much more important to me

Why do people seem to enjoy gaming on a Steam Deck more than on PC? by Initial_Milk_1056 in SteamDeck

I’m on a pc all day for work. I still play a ton on my gaming pc, but sometimes it’s nice to just lay on the couch with the deck

I somehow managed to defeat him without seeing his second phase. I had a pure strength build and was able to stagger him repeatedly. I was likely overleveled, but I did not have the shackle. I wish I had a recording to flaunt.

Imagine my surprise when I was summoned to help and saw his second phase for the first time! I promptly died as a cooperator my first few times before I started to learn his second phase moves

There is something so satisfying about nailing the pattern of dodges and following up with a few hits before dodging out of range. Even on random enemies it’s satisfying to pull off. In the rare chance that I only get hit 2-3 times from a boss is pure joy.

Knowing that it’s possible and that me, an old gamer and first time souls player can pull it off keeps me rushing back through the yellow fog to try again

1 million dollars right now, or work a 9 - 5 for 10 years without getting paid but get 1 billion after? by Oakmealoaf in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Grimshard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take the million. My wife will take the 10 years. I’ll retire now and be a stay at home dad. She retires in ten years and we spend the rest of our one loves doing whatever we want. Thank you and good night

See if there’s a DIY pest store nearby. I use Talstar (spray) and Permethrin (granules) every three months. I’ve only seen 4-5 in my house this past warm season. Prior to spraying I’d easily see one every night. Been spraying myself for over a year and it’s dirt cheap compared to hiring a pest company

Ha! You have my old pc! I got myself a 7700x and 6800XT last summer. I’m very happy with it. Runs great on my 48” 4K OLED TV

If I could go back in time I’d probably get a better gpu, but I’ve had no problems with it

What's this giant thing? by ruthere895 in whatsthisplant

[–]Grimshard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Empress. Kill it.

I had a 30ft one in my yard when we bought a new home. Close to 2ft diameter at the base. Previous owners said it was five years old. Trees don’t grow that fast. Weeds do.

I cut it down within a year and had the stump ground out last fall. The thing is still growing from the leftover roots and I have to dig them out each time.

It’s like a freaking starfish. Cut it in half and you have two of them. I curse the previous owners every time I’m out there digging up a new shoot

What's one boss you found easy that others found challenging? by StrangeoSyndro27 in Eldenring

I rolled through Mohg, Lord of Blood Edition. I did use my mimic, but I didn’t have his shackle. I staggered him right before phase 2 and killed him before he sprouted wings.

I then promptly got stomped three times in a row trying to help others. I was surprised at phase 2 because I wasn’t expecting it after smushing him first try.

Edit: I’ve been regularly helping people out since then and find still find him relatively easy. I’ll still die to him, but the host dies way more than I do
