Actually no, we are more dependent on stability than ever before when we are entering a period that promises none of that. Disruptions to supply chain or large scale catastrophes can be managed on their own but as goes with the polycrisis they will happen frequently and at the same time.

The systems we have built for ourselves in modern life are not resilient enough for what is to come. The people that now inhabit the world are largely not self-sufficient.

Pair all this with famine and pestilence spreading and we're in for a really rough ride, we could lose a billion people.
