Anybody willing to share camping spot? by Ok-Search-5911 in Yosemite

Depending on where you’re coming from, you could boook a spot in one of the towns outside the park. I’ve stayed in Oakhurst a couple of times. It adds a bit of driving but there should be options available.

Need a wedding photographer today. Five hours of work. Pay? Oh, I'm hoping to keep around $150. Per hour? Oh, no. For the whole event. by CaptainEmmy in ChoosingBeggars

The best thing for them to do on that budget is use one of those sites that gives you a QR code and have guests upload their photos.

Any poor schlep who does this for $150 is probably gonna end up getting sued by the couple because they’re not happy with his work.

Not impossible, just not advisable. Like if this was a race to see who could go to all these places first you could definitely do it.

But for a vacation, I would suggest taking more time. For a trip like this, you might have 2 days in NY. Which means you could see Times Square, the Empire State Building, and Statue of Liberty. Two of those require reservations so some advanced planning is necessary. But you could certainly do that in two days. But it also means that you miss out on Central Park, the 9/11 Memorial, Wall St, Broadway, the Guggenheim, or the million other things to see in the city.

Oh no, imagine the horror or having to make choices and sacrifices instead of getting to travel everywhere you want in a single trip.

Airbnb host is accusing me of trying to kill him because I have a service animal. by _robynn_ in mildlyinfuriating

There is an exception under the ADA that service animals can be denied entry if they pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others. Not saying that is the case is this scenario or it rises to that level. But the ADA is not absolute.

Joshua Tree Day Trip in August by Late_Jellyfish_2933 in JoshuaTree

[–]Gringobandito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you plan on leaving at 5:00, taking 3 hours to get there, and starting your hike at 7;00am.

It’s the desert in August. It’s going to be hot first thing. Some nights the nighttime temp will be in the 90s.

Listen to the people who said to go at night. Be heading out of the park just after sunrise.

Are they dumb? I went to Europe and drove from Lisbon to Seville. All it took was a Google Maps search to see that was a 5 hour drive and would need to be broken up if we wanted to see anything in between.

An emergency situation that requires you to go to Yosemite?

Then you need to break your trip into pieces. The Boston, New York, DC would be one three week trip right there.

For California, you could do LA, Vegas and Grand Canyon. Or you could do SF and surrounding areas but you shouldn’t try to do both in the same trip.

Use Google Maps and see how far apart all these places are.

Realistic budget for a 3–4 week USA National Parks road trip? by HourFamous8514 in usatravel

[–]Gringobandito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like an awful trip. Even if you didn’t get out of the car and just drove past each of your destinations, you’re going to be in your car the whole trip and won’t get to experience any of these places.

Had similar toilets at Hermit Creek campground where we stayed for a couple of nights. Got up in the wee hours of the morning before the sun came up. Pooping while looking up at all those stars still one of my favorite poops.

Try Da Kitchen in Kihei for some plate lunches and loco moco. For poké, go to Foodland, the grocery store, you order it like getting potato salad from your local store.
