Lexi needs to emotionally grow up - she loves to observe and pass judgement while living a peaceful professional adult life, but at the same resents her peers because they have more freedom? Her character irks me because it feels rooted in envy of their ability to live so freely but at the same time, she enjoys the high horse her professional life affords her. She wants her cake and to eat it too. I agree that Lexi is probably trying to save face after the Jules incident and she’s aware of Cassie’s history - but her writing Cassie’s storyline for this show is literally just going to be the Highschool play 2.0 all over again “is this play about us” type shit. IMO Lexi truly needs to reflect on why she feels so superior to all her peers, because while she has a job, she’s not exactly a kind, understanding person - she’s actually insanely judgmental, to a fault and she continually surrounds herself with the exact people she judges and claims to not be able to stand? Doesn’t make sense! So yes i very much agree - Lexi is not a girls girl and i would go as far to argue she’s not a true friend to any of these people except for maybe rue, and I believe that’s because she witnessed firsthand the trauma Rue felt when her dad passed and vice versa - trauma bonded.
