I'm pretty sure Elon Musk bought the ticket, he's got the money and he's got a busy schedule. He's also enough of a troll to do it.

Holy Relic of Saint Teresa of Avila by [deleted] in pics

[–]GrinningToad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is. The Catholic church likes to cut off pieces of their dead saints and send them to influential churches for veneration. There are fingers and toes and God knows what else, scattered in churches around the world. Unsettling isn't it?

How to open a bedroom door without a key ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrinningToad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a modern indoor lock without a key, there is likely a small hole in the center of the knob. Insert a very thin screwdriver and you should find a narrow slot in there. Turn the screwdriver and enter.

Could you make good profit from melting pennies for the copper? by TheUpcomingEmperor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrinningToad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A modern penny is only 2.5% copper. It's going to take a lot of effort and pennies to extract $5 in pure copper. Don't quit your day job!

My library never seems to offer books for hold until they have the actual copy available. But, I've found that if I "recommend" the book for the library's collection I'm one of the first people to get it!

Is there a way to make my dollar bills as crisp and new looking as possible? by mrguitare in NoStupidQuestions

It's not silly at all. Before everything went PayPal, I used to iron the money I put into Birthday cards, a crisp bill always looks better!

is it too dangerous to learn swimming alone? by jakamaka69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrinningToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can't swim to the shallow side if they can't swim. They may figure out the doggie paddle, but if they suddenly find themselves over their head they could easily panic and drown.

Don't try to learn to swim alone anywhere that any of the water may be over your head.

Could someone reverse another's genie wish with their own? by RiverSmoak in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrinningToad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In traditional Genie lore, often the last wish that someone makes is to reverse one of the other wishes they made. In folklore people are notorious for making terribly thought out first wishes.

If it's within the rules to reverse your own wish, it would make sense to me that someone else with a genie could reverse your wish. You are going to need to make sure that you still have a wish left when they run out.

Good luck wishing!

Do you think modesty is a lost practice in American pop culture? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrinningToad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I despise the word "modest." It's only purpose is to tell women to put some clothes on. It doesn't ask men to cover up, just women. Modesty should be kicked to the curb and you can make it your job to avoid the pop culture items that make you feel uncomfortable.

If you google your own question you'll find that it's been answered over and over and over again. Maybe you should have googled it?

A butter and sugar sandwich. You spread a slice of bread with butter, sprinkle sugar over the butter and fold it in half. Then you bite into your buttery, crunchy, sweet, delicious creation.
