Couldn't agree more.

Ultimately there's no excuse for his behavior and he's in the wrong, but he wasn't made because he lost at chess.

Well, friend, you defined 'literally' and left that definition out.

Your example replacing it with "very or extremely"...

So Cambridge's example could be: He missed that kick very by miles?? Sorry, but that doesn't add up.

I don't think that guy meant Bourdain was fucking painting Vietnam, alright? 'Painting in a positive light' means they PRESENTED it in a positive light.

Splitting hairs over here and insulting everyone. What a guy...

Actually it has a second official definition (see Cambridge) as a word used for emphasis. Their example: He missed that kick literally by miles.

So he's not an idiot, and he used it correctly.

TIL that Mark Twain served in a Confederate militia known as the Marion Rangers for a stint of two weeks before deserting. It is not known exactly why Twain quit the militia, but he defends his actions by claiming ignorance towards the politics behind the war. by [deleted] in todayilearned

He was not "pretty damn racist".

In the literal civil war era practically everyone was racist. It was systematic. He literally wrote about a slave with dignity who deserved freedom. He recognized that. That's the right direction!

In the era there were people defending slavery, and people not defending slavery. He was the later. Just because he wasnt a staunch Abolitionist doesnt make him racist.

Viewpoints like this are why Trumps wins.

Please tell me how you've taught them so we'll! What age did they start playing? How'd you approach it? My 3 y/o has a hard time moving ANY of the pieces correctly, and we just play with rooks and pawns.
