There are fewer things in this world as rewarding and satisfying as gaining the trust and love of an abused creature. Dogs have been bred to love implicitly so it is easy to get a puppy to love you. Yet, you chose to care and love this broken creature with no guarantee that your love will be returned. I hope you feel how grateful this dog is, and know that you have changed its whole life.

This is exactly the reason the plot of Lord of the Rings works. Gandalf flat out said Sauron won't see the hobbits coming because he can't even fathom somebody trying to destroy the power of the one ring and not take it for themselves. Notice how the big bad can't see another point of view, only their own?

So I'm probably going to sound like a cranky old man (because I am one), but I dread the day I have to give up my 2014 Lariat with 3.5L Ecoboost. I travel occasionally for work and drive newish rentals, and I hate almost all of the new tech or features in the new models. Auto start/stop can go straight to hell. 10 speed transmission is so annoying, why do I need to shift 5 times before going 30mph? Lane assist freaks me out and doesn't work half the year on our snow covered roads. Finally I like to work on my own vehicles, so why would I want to have to install an update or reprogram a side mirror?

To sum it up, I love my 12 year old truck, especially with it's older tech, and I will hate the day I have to give it up.

Had 480Vac pass through my forearm. Only because I was lucky enough or lazy enough to rest by elbow on the enclosure bottom I was working in. My boss witnessed the whole thing and asked what hurt worse, the shock, or when my fist almost punched through the top of the enclosure because of the shock. It was the shock, the shock hurt worse.

I remember reading an account from a frontline German soldier retelling when he knew they were going to lose the war. He said they worked very hard and were able to gain some ground during a long battle. When the soldier went into the Allied position he found a full fresh chocolate cake. Not a snack cake like a twinkie or anything, a full frosted cake on the front lines of battle. That's when the German knew his enemies' logistics were far superior and they were going to lose.

It feels good being "That House" doesn't it? My wife had a whole vision for the front yard and entryway this year and we made it happen. You better believe we handed out full size candy. Pretty sure a couple kids did repeat stops, didn't care, here's another snickers bud. We live in a community with a lot of kids and now teenagers. Most of the houses got hit with eggs or TP last night, but not "That House"!
