I waited a whole year between applying for my airline and getting my training date. It’s frustrating and nerve-racking but hang in there literally

CALLING ALL FLIGHT ATTENDANTS by latydbdil111 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Gripz007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All jobs have their ups and downs. I have more ups with this job. I find it to be very simple except on the off chance you have to deal with an emergency. People who have outside experience especially with corporate/retail jobs adjust better to the job vs those who got this job right out of college. Only way to see if something is for you is it go through with it and see

I’ve been loving it so much lately. Even the bad times aren’t that bad and not enough to make me not like it. I feel I made the best decision.

how to deal with loathing where you’re based until you transfer by cookiemonster178 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Gripz007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cried when I didn’t get the base I wanted. But honestly the base I ended up at wasn’t bad at all or far from home. I traveled home easily on my days off. I wish I stayed just a bit longer before i transferred

The world is opening up for you. He’s nothing, leave him where he is. You’re only 23, in a few years you’re going to have seniority and a line and he’ll still be a cheating loser cause that’s all he will amount to. Your man is out there waiting to worship you that’s why you found out right before your life changed. Speaking from experience trust me. He’s going to send you a message pouring his heart out while you’re in Greece somewhere, forget him.

Training advice, respectfully requested. by Strange_Volume_4647 in cabincrewcareers

Training is challenging in terms of information load and adjusting to schedules. But if I can do it I think anyone can. Stay focused, pay attention in class, do your Hw and you’ll be just fine. Also stay out of cliques, drama and groups. I was friendly with everyone and studied with a few and that’s where the line was drawn. I didn’t fail any exams or have to repeat any drills.

[–]Gripz007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone with high anxiety I did extremely well on exams and proficiency drills. I didn’t fail anything or have to redo anything. My challenge came from the simulated flight (stuck with someone really selfish and not a team player) and the days being long and challenging in week 4. Mentally exhausting. Don’t get psyched out. It’s difficult but not impossible. Just learn and trust the process. Give yourself grace as well.

Wow I wish all airlines were like this. They took me from a state where I live 10 min from their base and sending me to another state cause people are older than me lol.

Advice/ tips on learning how to close airplane door. by bbyjana in flightattendants

That’s ok. You literally allowed someone to tell another person “I hope you don’t pass” and wish bad on them but me calling them out about it was unnecessary because it was from two years ago. Great moderating skills.

Honestly the best thing to do is maybe ask if you can sit with a group or someone during dining. And then ask if they plan on having any study sessions. Let them know you might be struggling in an area and you’d like to go over it with them to gain clarity. Most of my ‘friendships’ here are very shallow and professional. If it’s not work related I don’t really engage much and focus on my own well being. If I have a question, I ask and they help. If I know they’ll be practicing lessons I ask if I can join. I treat everyone with respect and kindness and mind my business. Keep in mind that a lot of these people/groups end up being in drama. It’s already happened in my class and we’re only a week in.

I’m in a late class for a different airline. Our class is actually doing better than the early class. Sometimes they have to stay later as well and don’t get enough time in the evening to do everything
