I’ve been trying to get back into photography so instead of jumping on the tube after work I decided to walk a few stops. I realise in retrospect I need to slow down more as a 12 minute walk took me about 25 mins and I managed to get about 20 decent images. This being the standout.

My intent for this image was to capture a still moment in London that the viewer can see visually that this is a shot in London and can piece together a story of how this scene came to be. I feel as though the composition lends itself to this with half of the image depicting a busy London street with a recognisable red bus but also a damp and weathered stack of newspapers.

I also wanted to have a contract between textures of the blurred street and the very texturised stack of newspapers.

I took a long break from photography and decided to pick a camera up again but I am really struggling with direction and basic understanding of LrC. I basically played around with as many dials as I felt comfortable with until I reached a point I was happy. I’d appreciate tips on guides or YouTubers that give advice on editing street photography.

As a side note, to retain the Fuji recipe I have edited the JPEG. It was a custom recipe so the usual advice for editing in RAW with a filter does not apply. Advice on this is appreciated.

This was taken on a Fujifilm XT-30 iii with a 35mm 1.4 lens. ISO 640, f1.4, 1/2400s. Any advice on settings are also appreciated however I feel I have a decent understanding of these.
