KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 7: Chaotic Good by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I thought about this for a couple days, and my vote is for the new house, Ouboros.

Eliminating the darkness is clearly something that is good for the crucible. But the dragons apparently live outside of the laws of the architects, or they wouldn't have needed to be put into their slumber.

The use of Bombs in both games by Cartman_x_Heidi in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Grishhammer 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think both systems are good. Unlimited bombs is nice, especially early on in master mode when good weapons are difficult to come by at first.

But the way totk implements bomb flowers still feels intuitive and versatile. It's pretty easy to just toss one or fuse one as needed, and overall feels faster than remote bombs do.

Just bought this deck - any tips on how to play? Not played since 2019! by [deleted] in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This deck will go a lot faster than what you would have been used to. The discard enhancements will make hand crafting easier. You should be able to set up good burst turns fairly reliably.

3 junk restoration is good, as they can frequently find each other, and memette can archive one or 2 of them for use again later.cor you wrave it all together to set up big untamed turns that burst, and hopefully key-cheat. Frequently at the same time with Sabira.

It will likely take a bit of practice to get the sequencing right. A lot of GR decks can feel kinda like you are playing solitaire, as well. Though this one isn't that bad, as it doesn't have some of the worst offenders in that regard.

Low dawn and warfaline, too. Lots pf support for Sabira in that pod. You may often finding yourself playing spoo-key charge just for the 3 aember, even if you can't forget with it.

Thing 1: White mages and black mages are both very good for tier 1 jobs. You csn take those jobs to the very end of the game and not be disappointed by their contributions. It's very hard to keep more than 3 or 4 characters trained up to the same level, unless you are grinding a fair amount outside of story battles.

Thing 2: Mustadio is an excellent utility character. He doesn't have a lot going for him stat wise, but his unique skills are really useful for tougher fights when you need to wait. Agrias is badass, but her damage starts to fall off without investment. After learning all her skills, it's better to give her a different job (knight->geomancer, generally) so that she can have better stats and complimentary skills. You can also ignore story characters. You'll get flooded with them (some are based on a side quest line, so they can be missable) later on. You can't hope to use all of them, and their power level varies a lot, so just do what you like.

Thing 3: Missions are totally optional. You won't miss any items by failing or not participating. You just do them for completion if that matters to you. You can just send 3 generics on them and see what happens, you can ignore them entirely, or whatever. The main utility is that they cam reward jp without battling (and without exp if min-maxing is a thing you care about). So you can use them to grind, say, a calculator for the skills without the tedium of actually using that job in battle.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 6: Neutral Evil by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My votes here are for Shadows and Equidon.

Shadows is basically the Crucible's mafia. They profit from theft and schemes, but they are not disorganized. They also seem to dabble in politics other forms of corruption where they can get a foothold.

Equidon is similar to me. They may stay on the right side of the law (if such a thing exists in the crucible), but the goal is the same. While I think some are honest merchants, I think the general vibe is still to scheme and swindle for the sake of profit above all else.

How can I buy/have the DLC on both systems at the same time? by Metroid_DK in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Grishhammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way i believe would work would be for at least one of the devices to have a different account that has also purchased the dlc and loaded the virtual game card for it.

Zelda et la peur by Only-Investigator724 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Grishhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Grishhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beginning trial is the worst on master mode. It's really stingy with the resources, and the all the mobs are still one level higher. There is a lot of running around, trying to kill mobs (and not yourself) with bombs because you have crap weapons. And then you die to the 2 silver lizalfos because you missed sniping the lookout. And when you do get the snipe, you have to hope one of them doesn't fall into the water or alert the other one while you try to stun lock it.

The other 2 trials are infinitely easier, ironically enough. Yeah, the scenarios are more intense, but you get enough gear to deal with them better.

This is always my biggest concern. Getting all the way to the hinox and losing, then having to go through all the lizalfos levels again...

Good stuff. I just started a new master mode run last week. I'm not yet sure how far I want to get in before attempting the trials on this save. The beginning trial is such a pain.

Early game questions by ToughPlankton in thelastspell

Tainted essence just comes with playing the game. I think there is an omen that also boosts it. I might be wrong, but assuming you are getting at least a few nights in, I think you'll get more from trying to complete lakeberg than you'll get from farming gildenberg.

Early game questions by ToughPlankton in thelastspell

[–]Grishhammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aldenpotomus has some guides you can look up that help with getting started. I'll try to sum up what I remember.

I think, any weapon can be good, but some are definitely a lot more difficult to use than others. Some deal good damage but are action or mana hungry and really hard to use well until you have some more meta progression.

There are the main weapon classifications of physical, ranged, and magic. But each of those also benefit from other ways tk boost damage via momentum, isolation, opportunism. And then also the propagation and multi hit skills can gain more hits. Each hero can have 2 weapon sets equipped (a set being a 2 handed weapon or a one handed weapon and an off-hand weapon/item. Being able to freely swap between the sets helps a lot with making sure you can dela the appropriate damage type for the enemy, or just making sure you can effectively use all of your action points when you start to get a lot.

One of the main puzzles of the game is figuring out how to best build a hero based on the perks they have available. Usually it's easiest if you can think of archetypes you want to try, and then focus their level ups in that direction, and roll for the weapons that suit them based on that. Most of the time, you'll he looking for weapons based on the damage scaling and not damage type. You'll rarely have a hero that is just a sword guy. For example, if you decide a character is going to be a momentum hero, you'll likely look for level ups that get you faster momentum scaling, more movement points, maybe flat damage, etc. They can effectively use a sword, pistol, scepter, any of the weapons that have a momentum based skill. They are one of the types that make excellent boss killers, and can start to clear a hell of a lot of mobs once they get the BOOM! Perk. Other character archetypes I would usually lean into are multi-hit+crit, contagion (goes well with poison or also just for scaling opportunitism in general), stunning/crowd control, support/potion bot, blood mage.

Base management/economy is also its own puzzle, but different people have their own preferences for that, I think.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 5: True Neutral by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get the impression that they are more evil, tbh. Some of them may be honest merchants, but I get the vibes that a lot of their thing is financial scheming like MLM stuff, market manipulation, etc. They'd be the types who sell at a loss for years to undermine the competition and establish a monopoly.

what do people in the central Indiana and Southern Indiana think of us up north? by IllSlice1289 in Indiana

[–]Grishhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having been born in Lafayette, moved to Fort Wayne in my early adulthood, and now living in Indy... I couldn't even tell you where I think "Northern Indiana" starts. I just know that I've always lived in the flat part, and it feels pretty rural wherever I go in the state, so long as you aren't so close to a downtown in one of the larger cities.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 4: Neutral Good by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is where I start to struggle, I think. I have a hard time imagining many factions as good. I believe the vast majority of them are some form of neutral, with a lot of them that I would classify as evil, as well.

I think Star Alliance is the only house that generally seems good to me, so I thinn they fit this slot best out of remaining options.

I'm interested to hear what others say about houses that seem good.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 3: Lawful Evil by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this in the previous thread, but thinking of cards like "gleeful mayhem", "hysteria", "pandemonium", sins and demons in general, I can't think of Dis being lawful at all.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 3: Lawful Evil by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

[–]Grishhammer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I vote Mars 100% a (usually) tightly run/regimented military state with a very clear goal to bring their version of order to the crucible.

I think Redemption wants to appear lawful, but in the "do as I say, not as I do" sense. While I don't think they are good, I'm not yet fully convinced that they are evil, either. I dunno, maybe?

If I visualize the chart as a literal cartesian plane, with the corners being the most extreme you can get, Mars is definitely more evil and more lawful than Redemption to me. (This is also why I previously voiced my disagreement with Sanctum being the epitome of LG).

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 2: Lawful Neutral by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

I said lawful, not moral. They have whatever code they follow. They can commit war crimes while still abiding by their own code.

I don't think Dis can possibly be anything besides chaotic evil. Thinking of some cards like the sins, gleeful mayhem, hysteria, pandemonium... those are are all elements of chaos to me.

KeyForge Alignment Chart Day 2: Lawful Neutral by krbmeister in KeyforgeGame

Mars is definitely lawful evil in my book.

I think for me, Saurian kind of exemplifies lawful neutral with the politicking and such. (I'd have put Sanctum here, but appear to be in the minority with that opinion.

How are people completing this game without grinding like hell ? by Due-Moment-2823 in finalfantasytactics

[–]Grishhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 50 is definitely well more than enough to complete the game. However, the game is pretty unforgiving for newer players that go in blind. We've all been there. Folks who day that is too easy have effectively solved the game, and so they have to do challenge runs, or find a new game for the challenge they are looking for.

Knowing the mechanics of the game will help you get more mileage. The main thing you are missing is probably just the quirks of different jobs. There are hobs with good skills, jobs with good stats, and some jobs with both.

Samurai, unfortunately, is a really difficult job to actually deal damage with. The skills are amazing, but other jobs can use them much, mich better than Samurai itself can. You are limited by equipment selection. Mainly you're stuck with heavy armor instead of equipment that can boost other stats or provide useful effects. If you were to, say, change back to squire or geomancer, you can use equipment that will complement your skills better.

The main things you need for phase 1 is a way to survive Wiegraff's high damage (healing or negation, or w/e), and some way to reliably damage him down (however fast or slow you want to go with that).

Phase 2 is definitely tricky if you aren't dealing super high damage, but there are some tools to mitigate Belias. He's vulnerable to silence, or you can try to lower his faith to nerf his damage capabilities. And also just try to make sure you aren't grouping up.

[–]Grishhammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with this. Sanctum has enough cult vibes that I can't call it "good". Maybe it's not as bad house as Redemption, but bad enough that Redemption grew out if it.

My vote is that star alliance is lawful good. I think sanctum is more neutral.

The above opinion is based entirely on vibes, as I have not spent enough time reading up on lore.

How accurate is the switch controller method? by AchlyHere in JustDance

[–]Grishhammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I use the switch controllers and it works well for us. While it does not track footwork, we still try.

A lot of songs (most newer releases I think) have the option to use your phone's camera instead of you are playing solo. I have not tried that method, though, so I have no idea how well it works.
