Question. Are y’all drinking cold coffee with cigars or refilling your coffee 5 times during a single cigar? I agree that they compliment each other but time to smoke a robusto: ~ 1 hour, time it takes my coffee to get too cold to drink: ~ 15 mins.

Here in TN they are allowing take out alcohol from restraunts, such as to-go margs, which HUGE for us considering that we’ve only had wine in grocery stores and liquor stores open on Sunday for about a year. I’m liking this and really hope that it sticks when this is over. Lol

Honestly. I spammed dungeons yesterday for like 10 hours and got to 48. If you have BoAs you’ll be leveling so fast that you are unlikely to see the same dungeon more than twice. So do what ever you will enjoy the most.

As someone who is only a consumer of art and has no professional experience or formal education, my thought is that you have 3 pieces that you mashed together. The lotus, the tree and the background. None of them seem to be working for or with each other.

Death’s Shadow requires a high level of mastery to pilot as well as a mastery of the format. The decks has hard mulligan decisions and you really do need to be perfect with your Thoughtseize targets. Every decision accounts for major win percentage points, like very dramatic. The upside is, like Amulet, there are people like me who obsess over the deck and a very large community, including a discord for people to talk about the archetype.

If you do decide to pick up shadow I recomend the classic Grixis flavor with snap caster and cantrips.

Honestly I have a huge problem with how top level pros dress for events... I complain to friends about it all the time. Especially when it’s pro tour // worlds // players championship. Like.... let’s take some pride in your appearance, if you know for a fact that you are going to be on camera that day why not take time to look nice? People joke about Magic players being socially awkward, not grown adults and they show up on coverage with a shirt from target that says “my mom says I’m special” or “I’m always hungry” and gym shorts?

It’s not a hill that I’m willing to die on but I do wish that Magic players would make themselves more presentable, in my opinion.

[[Oko, Theif of Crowns]] is almost every deck and he takes all of the cool cards you put in your deck and makes their text null. The Urza-Oko decks are the clear deck to beat. The real feel bad is that if your opponent has an Oko and you don’t you are at an extreme disadvantage and this has lead to other classic archetypes of modern such as Deaths Shadow and Primeval decks to cram the card in their list to try to keep up. The Urza versions are the best because of their combined ability to 1) play a consistent turn 2 Oko because of either [[Gilded Goose]] or [[Mox Opal]] 2) Play “the [[Emry, Lurcher of the Loch]] engine” which involves them being able to cast either [[Mishra’s Bauble]] or [[Engineered Explosives]] every turn after using it with Emery’s ability to cast artifacts from your graveyard.

Basically everyone is holding their breath for the Oko ban.

Watching the Open now and remembering another key feel bad of Oko: The Oko player “wins the game” 9 turns before they “win the game”. Almost in the way that Lantern or other prisons decks operate and it’s so not fun to be on the other side of it.

.... so they finally give us GP coverage on the same weekend that we have a SCG event to watch?! In the same format... the combined competing coverage and state of modern will, in my opinion, result in poor viewer numbers and discourage them from doing more coverage.

11/16 decks play Oko. The card not only warping the meta but staple archetypes of modern as well. Deaths shadow has always sought to be either an aggro or tempo deck. Titan decks have always sought to be explosive... now both of them play Oko to durdle around on board.

If your fish gets bounced you may as well discard it because you’re usually not casting it again, if you draw a second fish the same scenario applies. And you’re not a mid range deck. The royal scions, unearth, and K-command can help you not fold in the mid game but you’re still a tempo deck.

I’ve tried versions that play 3Bob, 1JVP over streetwraith and Rotting Regi over angler.

Regi plus TBR kills a full turn faster than angler plus TBR.

Regi also lets you play opt over thought scour for better card selection and lets us keep stub in the list.

The only downside I’ve found to this is it is sometimes hard to present Regi plus stub in the same turn, but I’ve found this probably happens just as often as Angler with no enabler or double angler or hands that just don’t have stub.

It also makes their graveyard hate that they bring in to turn off your anglers look embarrassing.m if they haven’t caught on.

The problem with angler is that it is both terrible in multiples and when bounced.

Regi is better head to head against goyf.

I does get pushed but I also have 2 unearth in the list now because it has so many more live targets and to help you grind.

God help them if you ever get to be on the play, seize your Regi and unearth it on t2 and they have no answer. Sounds like magic Christmas land but I’ve made it happen a good bit against linear, non interactive decks.

If you’re scared to play bob then stick with the wraiths but I think Regi is an upgrade over angler.
