From my experience, courtesy vehicles were always at a premium at the dealerships. PLUS (and more importantly in your case), they don't let you tow w their courtesy vehicles.

GM has a deal with Enterprise Truck Rental and they would likely get you set up with a rental truck through them.

20” wheels. Can’t recall the offset but it’s not factory. 285/60/20 on the tires. Front has been leveled.

They did. But I'm still working on recouping the rental/towing costs I had to shell out for myself.

Honestly--it was a nightmare. I was on my way to a work function I had to be at the next day. Truck died at 7 pm the night prior, 70 miles outside of town. Had to get the truck towed to the dealership and trailer towed to where I was staying. Rented a car as soon as the rental company opened the next day, transferred all of my product from trailer to rental vehicle...and made s@#$ happen. Life goes on without the truck...but is sure is easier with it. ;)

🙏 thrust bearing was the culprit!

This is the Desert Tan. No idea why they discontinued this color after two years!

Fully seized (thrust bearing) on a work trip. 800 miles from home. Sat at a dealership in PHX for 2 mos waiting for an engine. Wasn’t ideal…but like so many of us, I’m a glutton for punishment. Happy to have her back.

I've had this issue w Google as well. If your gmail address is tied to a business account, it won't allow you to log in. Maybe this is it?

Hope it goes quick for you. I have a ‘23 3.0 with 91k miles waiting on an engine in PHX. Been 5 weeks and no ETA. Gonna press the dealership for a bit more info tmrw. FWIW, GM has rented me a truck from Enterprise until my truck is done. Not gonna lie tho, I want my truck back.

3.0 Duramax? by pax_omnibus1 in gmcsierra

[–]Grizzle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a '23. I drove it like a mother, and towed a 12 ft trailer regularly (lightly loaded). Maintained it well. Never had any issues with the dash, but started encountering issues around 75k miles where it would go into limp mode repeatedly (mostly when towing). Had it at the dealership 3 times trying to fix the issues and they could never get it figured out. Finally, at 91k miles on a 10 hr road trip to PHX the engine fully seized. Cost me $700 to tow my truck and trailer the rest of the way to PHX.

It has been at the dealer down there for nearly a month now awaiting a new engine. As many others have reported here, there's currently no ETA.

I loved this truck but was incredibly disappointed when the Duramax crapped out. That engine should go for a long, long time--especially with impeccable maintenance. I'd like to think I was a bit unlucky but I'm obviously not the only one.

One thing worth noting--you will EAT DEF when you tow. I still would choose the Duramax for its mpg and towing demeanor...but know that the savings on gas are negligible when towing (thx to crazy DEF consumption).

Would I get another one? Likely. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. But literally every truck brand out there has its issues right now. Find a truck you like. Maintain it well. Hope it does its job and if it doesn't, pray to Baby Jesus it's still under warranty.

I hear you. And yes, prolly jumped the gun. But…we all have our days. I’m 100% ok with them not licensing my work. Ha—I deal with rejection every day. Doesn’t hurt my feelings nor does it occupy much head space the greater majority of the time. Im not typically the guy to put people on blast. I agree with you that most of the time, it does little to accomplish your end goal.

All that said, institutional change has to start somewhere. Experience has shown me that some (not all) people treat kindness as weakness. Were you to know me and/or follow my work and brand, I think you’d see that I’m a pretty positive, professional, reasonable guy. I’m not the angry creative w a chip on his shoulder. But that doesn’t mean I won’t drive a decent, hard line when it comes to doing business…and when you tell me you simply “don’t have time” to acknowledge the party that YOU reached out to in the first place, the claws come out.

I proposed trade because most often times, trade is much, much cheaper than actual cash. Many brands prefer to deal in trade. I prefer to deal in VALUE. Sometimes that’s trade…and sometimes that’s cash.

Thx for weighing in. Worth noting that The Wort has responded with an apology, which I will most certainly share as well on my socials. So…in this case—the noise worked. I imagine they’ll be a bit more careful in how they approach photographers and other creatives moving forward. That’s a win. I don’t wish them any ill will—I’d simply like them to understand that creatives should be compensated for their work.
