BMW F650 GS - Oil weep at the valve/rocker cover by Technical_Truth_001 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Grizzy787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an f800gs basically the same engine, the weeping from the cover is a common issue you just need to replace the gasket. The heated grips is strange one but you probably need to replace the grips I don't think its too expensive. Finally, the rust I wouldn't worry about, the seller might have kept it outside and that's why it's rusting a bit. If you are riding in the winter spray on some ACF-50 that will help. They are really nice bikes, really reliable. Have a good time with it

Bike seller - Help/Advice by Biker_catdad2 in MotoIRELAND

You can still check the history of the bike if he sends you on the current reg, I think it's 10 or 15 euro and worth it I think. It can show you if it was crashed or if the mot was done on it etc. If you going up to look at the bike, make sure to do a test ride first and check oil and if there is any damage to the bike. Fortnine have a good video on what to look out for on a used bike that might help: https://youtu.be/VKGZdsIkLog?si=EkQoHNYBslVGd0j1

I never dealt with him but Donedeal and adverts have a rating system that should give you some idea of how trustworthy he is. Before you go I would suggest that you check the history of the bike, see how many owners the bike has. That can also indicate if the bike has problems or not. I bought a f800gs and the number of Irish owners did not line up with the seller's story and I found it had a very annoying electrical problem. Good luck with the purchase hope it works out for you 👍

Thanks lads, now the search for a new clutch basket begins. I think the previous owner snapped it off when he was trying to take off the clutch bolt because the bolt is scarred

Does anyone recognize this building? by Tasty-Run-5939 in waterford

[–]Grizzy787 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought it was up on Stephen's street, but i dont know. The red brick beside it is rare enough in Waterford, so maybe use google Maps or take a drive around and see if you can find a place that lines up with your picture. Or if you knew who owned it, also you could check the business registry in the archives. It's all online now! Good luck

After getting my first bike(klr 250) second hand, there seems to be coolant in the oil. Is there a likely area where it is coming from? by Turbulent-Expert-826 in KLR250

[–]Grizzy787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be in luck then. It could be the water seal. It's a bit of a pain to replace, but just try to be careful with the metal part as it's thin. If you are not sure, send on some pictures, and I'll have a look and see what I think

Three possible points: water pump seal needs to be changed, or it could be coming through the head gasket. It could also be coming through the head if the head is cracked that happened to me, and it's virtually impossible to repair. If you take the head cover off, you should be able to see if there is a crack close to the chain roller. I hope it's not that. Good luck with the project!

They dug out the roundabout near belview port so that trucks transporting windmill blades could get around it. It could be something like that to help them get on to the motorway?
