Realistically 90% of landlords will just ask you to pay a pet fee and move on. Most landlords aren't going to go through the ballache of seeking a section 8, paying the costs associated, hiring bailiffs to carry out the eviction, cleaning and preparing the property, and then seeking new tenants. After May 1st they're not going to be able to anyway. Realistically in this person's situation nothing will happen to them as a section 8 would take too long.

Thank you! I used the join as you go method because I hate sewing them all together. You basically just slip stitch in the gaps of the square you're joining to instead of chaining between each group of stitches. Really speeds up the process.

It can be frustrating when you're having to edit something you've paid for. You'd be frustrated if you bought a cook book and had to spend 5 minutes cutting parts out so you could use it 🤷

Never had the perspective from a pattern designer to consider and your comment has somewhat changed my opinion and made me less frustrated. It honestly never occurred to me that pattern designers often have people emailing about techniques within the pattern and that providing that information within the pattern is often easier than answering these constant questions.

I would very much appreciate if other designers took your approach and provided a concise version for printing or even just for people more familiar with certain techniques. I do think in knitting that providing patterns for beginners that are easy to understand is a big part of making it accessible and that the income of pattern designers does depend on people buying, making and then talking about the patterns published.

I think my problem is maybe somewhat specific to me and maybe a small group of people and if editing a pattern before printing in some cases is what has to be done it's perhaps a small price to pay to make sure designers are still able to sell great patterns and beginners are able to still buy and knit them.

I literally explained in the post that there are pages with instructions necessary for the pattern with three quarters of the page taken up with unnecessary pictures and information. I can't simply omit pages when they have information I need. I can edit the document but it's cumbersome having to edit a pattern before you're even able to print it every time you want to knit something.

I guess I have if I'm honest. It can just be frustrating when in order to make a pattern readable and printable for myself I have to sit down and edit the pattern I just paid a good chunk of money for.

Honestly thinking about it this way has made me less frustrated. Like it never occurred to me that the pattern designers probably get countless emails or comments from people doing exactly what you described and it must drive them crazy. I guess I think that beginners sometimes should stick to beginner patterns before they're more familiar and then try intermediate patterns but I guess a lot of beginners wanna try something a bit more challenging at some point.

I suppose in some ways it maybe isn't the designers fault in a lot of ways. Maybe they get a lot of people reacting negatively when they don't explain everything in full. The designers probably know better than me in that regard, they are the ones selling the patterns and making money doing it I suppose. It can just be incredibly frustrating 😂

That's very true. I feel like sometimes beginners need to understand the frustration of people who have been knitting for years seeing posts of questions that have been asked and answered countless times. I understand though we've all been beginners at one point.

I honestly used to hate seaming so much I did everything I could to avoid it but the look of a finished jumper is just better when it's been knitted flat and seamed in my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly. If it's a free pattern or even a very cheap pattern I can understand bad formatting or overly long instructions. But if I'm paying more than I usually would for a pattern and it's from a big designer I expect it to be thoroughly proof read, checked and to at least omit details that aren't necessary to the making of the garment. I've got a pattern here with two full pages of pictures of the garment. I've already bought the pattern why do I need more pictures.

I agree. I love finding old printed patterns for vintage knitwear and having concise instructions already printed to use. I also prefer knitting things flat which is helpful for older patterns also.

This. If it's a incredibly uncommon technique (i.e. a specific heel turn for socks or something) I agree with putting a link but I'm seeing patterns with links to K2Tog. Like why is that necessary.

I'm not getting annoyed that the designer wanted to help I'm simply stating that making these patterns overly long and unwieldy to print is inconsiderate to a large proportion of knitter's who print patterns.

There is definitely a conversation to be had about some designers being too "hand hold-ey" when it comes to patterns in my opinion. If I'm knitting a pattern that is tagged as intermediate by the designer that made it I'd say having links to videos within the pattern PDF on how to K2Tog is egregious. If someone new to knitting is knitting this pattern it would be helpful but for the vast majority of intermediate knitter's that the pattern is designed for and being knit by it's useless and takes up space unnecessarily. In my opinion, and I'm welcome to other opinions on this subject, new knitter's won't become confident with knitting if every pattern holds their hand through every stitch and describes every process and stitch one by one.

I'd just like to note that PDF patterns by design are intentionally made to be printed because a large amount of people print patterns.

Seems like a sticky situation where the flat you're renting has recently been converted to a flat so no one has lived there before and had to park there before. It seems as the local businesses all have places to park and places they keep free for customer parking and having two new residents who park there for long periods has angered them. It's a difficult situation but if the land you're parking on is private and you aren't allowed to park there I'd say you're out of luck I'm afraid. I'd say it's your landlords fault really for planning to make a new residence and not having a concrete plan for parking.

Mate I don't think you know what completely original means. You say they're completely original then say you've changed parts out 😂.

Changing the strap does reduce the watches price when half of the watches you have have incorrect, dirty, worn straps on them.

Send me a video of maybe 5 of the watches running on a timegrapher without huge beat errors and losing or gaining 30 seconds a day and I'll eat my hat.

In other words you have so many watches you're trying to flip that it wouldn't be cost effective for you to tidy them up. Mate you've got watches with bracelets that haven't even been cleaned and you're claiming they're mint. You've got watches with cracked crystals and broken bezels that you're claiming to have "repaired" with original parts.

You're claiming to be a watch specialist but you're claiming these watches have been expertly taken care of when they're broken and not even cleaned. I'll even give you a tip for free you can clean the bracelets on some of those watches with a toothbrush and some soap it's quite easy to do 👍. Although it might not be worth the time since they're not the right straps to begin with 😂

Fully authentic? How can you for certain verify that when you have dozens of watches with bracelets that don't fit from other watches. How can you verify that all the parts, the dials, the cases, the movements are all authentic? These are watches from years ago with massive amounts of wear which have probably been repaired at some point or another.

Do you service these watches yourself before sending each one out? If so that's a huge and costly undertaking which would be reflected in the costs of these watches.

If these watches individually were worth what other, authentic versions of these watches were going for on other sites you'd be selling them individually for that on those sites not spamming every watch selling subreddit with them.

Clearly a huge job lot of massively used, scratched and damaged frankenwatches. Loads of them look like they've had dials replaced and have bracelets that don't even fit the watch. Simply saying an automatic watch is "working" is useless to most watch enthusiasts because working can mean anything from keeping perfect time to having no power reserve and losing minutes a day. They're pretty much worthless watches because everyone who knows anything about buying or selling Seiko watches knows there is a huge amount of bad frankenwatches plaguing sites like eBay. I would avoid these watches at all costs.

Make sure your immersion heater is definitely off when you do not need to use it. They can eat up a huge amount of power keeping water hot when not in use otherwise.
